Association Of Human Herpesvirus 7 And Human Herpesvirus 8 With Lichen Planus

Objective: To investigate the association of human herpesvirus 7(HHV-7)and human herpesvirus 8(HHV-8)with lichen planus(LP),and to provide a useful reference for the study of the pathogenesis of lichen planus.Methods: In this case-control study,a total of 20 patients with clinical manifestations and pathologically confirmed lichen planus neither therapy nor other infectious diseases from department of dermatology were enrolled as experimental group from May 2016 to July 2017,and skin lesion samples were collected;17 healthy individuals who underwent cosmetic surgery during the same period of time were enrolled as control group,and their skin tissue samples were collected.Quantitative real-time PCR was used to detect HHV-7 DNA and HHV-8 DNA in skin lesion samples of the patients with lichen planus and nomal skin tissue samples of the healthy individuals.The data were fed into SPSS 21.0 statistical software.Fisher?s exact test was used for data analysis.P<0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results: 1.HHV-7 DNA was detected in the skin lesion samples of 4 patients in the experimental group,while it was not detected in the skin tissue samples of the individuals in the control group,and there was no significant difference between the two groups(P=0.109>0.05);The number of HHV-7 DNA copy in 4 positive samples was respectively 0.79?2.15?2.47 and 3.10(copies/?l).2.HHV-8 DNA was not detected in all samples.Conclusion: 1.HHV-7 is detected in the skin lesion samples of patients with lichen planus,but whether it is involved in the pathogenesis of lichen planus remains unclear.2.HHV-8 may not be associated with the pathogenesis of lichen planus.
