Objectve:To evaluate the accuracy of tear protein analysis in the diagnosis of Dry eye syndrome. Methods:A systematic search of the PubMed,Ebsco-Medline,Web of Science,CBM,CNKI,VIP and Wanfang Data was performed to identify eligible published studies up from 1997 to 2018.The meta-analysis was conducted with STATA15.0 software.Obtain data from relevant research to evaluate the accuracy of tear protein analysis in the diagnosis of Dry eye syndrome. Results: A total of 6 studies with 6 studies were eligible in this meta-analysis.The results showed that the sensitivity and specificity in the original literature were 30.40%-89.00% and 84.1%-100%.After statistics software integration, then make the forest figure of tear protein analysis in the diagnosis of Dry eye syndrome. It concludes that the total sensitivity of 0.89(95% CI: 0.77-0.95),total specificity was 0.65(95% CI: 0.51-0.76),positive likelihood ratio(PLR)was 2.5(95% CI: 1.8-3.4),and negative likelihood ratio(NLR)was 0.18(95% CI: 0.09-0.34).At the same time, the area under the curve(AUC)was calculated by software as 0.83(95%CI: 0.79-0.86).Therefore,the tear protein analysis in the diagnosis of Dry eye syndrome has high sensitivity and acceptable specificity, and can be good for sure and rule out the diagnosis of dry eye that the under certain conditions. At the same time, the positive diagnostic likelihood ratio of lacrimal protein in the diagnosis of dry eye was higher than that of the negative likelihood ratio, suggesting that tear protein analysis had a better diagnostic advantage ratio. In general, tear protein analysis has an acceptable accuracy in the diagnosis of Dry eye syndrome. Conclusions: The tear protein analysis in the diagnosis of Dry eye syndrome has certain accuracy, but it is still lack of unified diagnosis and measure, the result still needs more large sample, multicenter, high quality research evidence,to better applied to clinical work.
