Objective:To discuss the effect of music intervention on the vital signs, feeding, growth, neural development and hospital stay and expenses of premature infants.Methods:100 premature infants were randomized into two groups;the experimental group(give music 30 min per time, once every day until the discharge)and the control group(without music). To compare the vital signs(RR,HR,SPO2)before,during and after the music intervention, also the weight gain and feeding, follow up to 3 months after discharge. Results:RR had significantly decreased in the 20 min,30min during the music and 30 min after the music;the experimental group had short er time to regain birth weight(6.07±2.47d),compared to the control group(8.93±4.31d)and shorter time of intravenous nutrition(8.6±3.87 d VS 11.66±5.85d),lower ambrosia rate, faster sucking rate, lower hospit al stay(10.36±4.36 d VS 12.46±5.73d)and expenses(16404.33±5910.74 RMB VS 21259.98±14692.90 RMB),better NBNA scores;lower rehospitalization rate within 3 months after the first discharge. Conclusion:Early music intervention can promote the growth and development of preterm infants, improve feeding, shorten hospitalization time, reduce hospitalization expenses, and improve short-term prognosis of the preterms.
