| Objectives: To analyze the pathogenesis in acute ischemic stroke patients with atrial fibrillation. Methods:We retrospectively analyzed all the clinical data, the results of MRA/CTA and carotid artery ultrasound and MRI/DWI in 167 acute ischemic stroke patients with atrial fibrillation, who were admitted to the Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University.According to their MRI/DWI,all those patients were divided into different types based on CISS and we have compared their clinical data. Results:Of the 167 patients, cardiogenic stroke is found in 111 patients(66.47%),while 56(33.53%)patients have non-cardiogenic stroke, which contains 13 patients with watershed infarction,18 patients with Penetrating artery disease,25 patients with Undetermined etiology.Among those patients with cardiogenic stroke,high-grade arterial stenosis is found in 35 patients. While, there are 33 patients in the non-cardiogenic stroke patients. There is a statistical difference between them(P=0.001<0.05).Conclusion:The reason of the infaction in acute ischemic stroke patients with atrial fibrillation is not only cardioembolism, but also large-artery atherosclerosis. The non-cardiogenic stroke patients have higher morbidity of high-grade arterial stenosis, thus high-grade arterial stenosis would help to distinguish cardioembolism and non-cardiogenic stroke. |
