Objective: The positive emotion can make people happy and eliminate the impact of negative emotions. The Solution Focused Coaching?SFC?is considered to be an effective intervention to enhance the positive emotion. The purpose of this study is to use SFC to intervene nurses, and to use the positive emotion perception and the local brain activity as main evaluation indicators. The method of combing subjective and objective evaluation is used to verify whether the SFC is helpful to the positive emotion improvement of nurses' after intervention, which in order to provide reliable evidence basis for the further application of the intervention strategy in the field of nursing.Methods:11 nurses in a three level of first-class hospital received the Solution Focused Coaching intervention. The positive emotion perception and the local brain activity were main evaluation indicators. The PANAS?Positive Affect and Negative Affect Schedule?was used to evaluate the emotion of the subjects before and after intervention.A 3.0T magnetic resonance scanner was used to collect resting state functional magnetic resonance images of subjects before and after intervention. The differences of PANAS scale and local brain activity of 11 nurses before and after intervention were compared. The correlation between ALFF and positive emotion perception score was analyzed based on region of interest?ROI?identified by paired t-test.Results:1.In this study, the positive emotion score of the total population increased after the intervention, but the difference was not statistically significant?P>0.05?.The negative emotion score of the total population decreased after intervention and the difference was statistically significant?P<0.05?.2.The ALFF value in Cerebelum8L was significantly increased after the intervention. The ALFF value in PostcentralL was significantly decreased after intervention.3.There was no statistically significant correlation between the positive emotion score and the ALFF in the differential brain regions.Conclusions:1.There was no significant difference in positive emotion perception of nurses between before and after the single-session SFC intervention, but the negative emotion perception of nurses was significantly decreased after intervention?P<0.05?,which suggested that the single-session SFC intervention had a certain role in regulating the emotion of the nurses. The intervention did not directly improve the positive emotion perception, but the negative emotion perception was obviously decreased, which indicated the ratio of positive emotions to negative emotions will increase, and the emotion state of nurses may develop towards a good trend after intervention.2.This study did not find any brain activity changes in the prefrontal cortex and significant correlation between the ALFF of differential brain regions and positive emotion scores, but after the intervention the ALFF in Cerebelum8L was significantly increased and the ALFF value in PostcentralL was significantly decreased. It was suggested that the Cerebelum8L may be involved in the coding of the associative memory in a positive situation. In this study positive questions of the coach during the single-session SFC intervention may cause the recollection of the previous successful experience or exceptions, which may be one of the causes of the brain activity in the left cerebellum.3.This study results were not consistent with the study hypothesis, but the perception of negative emotions decreased and brain activity changed significantly.Findings in this study suggested the single-session SFC intervention had a certain influence on nurse's emotion regulation. The single-session intervention strategy is worth further refining, exploring and applying.
