Objective: The main aims of this study were to determine the expression of PGRMC1 antigen in endometrial carcinoma and to discuss clinical pathological features and prognosis of endometrial carcinoma and its clinical significance. Methods: The endometrium samples were obtained from the surgeries performed between 2007 and 2013 in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University. There are 72 cases of endometrial carcinoma,29 cases of atypical hyperplasia of endometrium and 24 cases of normal endometrium(the endometrial tissue were obtained from patients with undesired fertility who underwent complete hysterectomies and excised both uterine appendages due to cervical disease). We were used the immunohistochemical staining to detect the expression of PGRMC1 in endometrial carcinoma, analysis the relationship and clinical significance of its expression with clinical pathological features and the prognosis of patients. Results: PGRMC1 in endometrial carcinoma the positive rate was 98.61%,significantly higher than that of atypical hyperplasia group 62.07%,and the normal endometrium of4.17%(P<0.05).The strong positive rate of PGRMCl was significantly higher in patients with stage type ? than type ?(P<0.05);In endometrial carcinoma, the increase of PGRMCl was detected in those with positive ER and PR status. However, the expression of PGRMC1 had no relationship with FIGO stage, pathological grades, vascular invasion and lymph node metastasis. The survival curve analysis showed that the overall prognosis of patients with endometrial cancer was unrelated to the expression of PGRMC1,but the mortality in clear cell endometrial carcinoma patients with strong positive expression of PGRMC1 increased significantly,P<0.05.Follow the Cox regression model analysis, late FIGO stage, vascular invasion ?1/2 and type ? of endometrial carcinoma can be the risk factors associated with the prognosis of endometrial carcinoma(P<0.05).Conclusion: 1.The expression of PGRMC1 antigen in endometrial carcinoma was significantly higher than others,it is associated with the development of the endometrial carcinoma.2.The strong positive expression of PGRMC1 antigen was associated with the type of endometrial carcinoma and status of ER,PR.3.The patients of clear cell endometrial carcinoma with strong positive expression of PGRMC1 antigen had a higher mortality.
