Objective: To investigate the clinical characteristics and risk factors of primary sjogren's syndrome(pSS)associated pulmonary arterial hypertension(PAH).Methods: The clinical data of 16 primary sjogren's syndrome patients associated pulmonary arterial hypertension(pSS-PAH)and 60 primary sjogren's syndrome patients without pulmonary arterial hypertension(pSS-non-PAH)were collected retrospectively,The T test,Mann-whitney U test,Chi-square test and regression analysis were used for statistical analysis of the laboratory index, echocardiography and other related data. Results: Compared with pSS-non-PAH group, there were evidently increased lactate dehydrogenase(LDH)(349.86±253.30 vs 217.44±165.17U/L),aspertate aminotran sferase(AST)(41.50±34.37 vs 24.61±18.68U/L),serum uric acid(374.20±128.26 vs 292.13±244.64umol/L),serum phosphorus(P)concentration(1.30±0.13 vs 1.16±0.18mmol/L),Right ventricular diameter(28.69±9.33 vs 18.58±2.10mm),Pulmonary artery diameter(28.19±5.09 vs 22.0±2.29mm)level in pSS-PAH group((P<0.01,P<0.05,P<0.05,P<0.01,P<0.01,P<0.01)).However,the thyroid hormone T3 concentration(3.24±0.90 vs 3.97±0.68pmol/L)and serum Mg concentration(0.82±0.09 vs 0.88±0.07mmol/L),Left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(40.50±6.70 vs 45.07±3.78mm)?Stroke volume(40.75±6.90 vs 51.32±11.57ml)?Left ventricular end-systolic volume((21.94±5.90 vs 29.51±7.89ml)?Left ventricular end-diastolic volume(62.69±11.79 vs 80.76±17.93ml)were lower than those of pSS-non-PAH group((P<0.01,P<0.05,P<0.05,P<0.05,P<0.01,P<0.01)).It had been revealed that The lower concentration of thyroid hormone T3?the decrease serum levels of Mg?theel evated serum P levels and Raynaud phenomenon should be the risk factors of primary sjogren's syndrome patients complicated with PAH by Logistic regression analysis(P<0.05).Conclusion: The lower thyroid hormone T3 concentration, reduced serum Mg concentration, elevated serum P concentration may and Raynaud phenomenon should be the clinical indicators to predict PAH in patients with primary sjogren's syndrome.
