ObjectiveTo evaluate the safety and efficacy of acupuncture for chronic neck pain.MethodThe computer comprehensively retrieves the clinical randomized controlled trial(RCT)on acupuncture and moxibustion treatment of chronic neck pain at home and abroad, and after searching the domestic and English more authoritative medical journals in the library, screening literature and statistics, making data forms, and using the bias risk assessment tool introduced in Cochrane Handbook 5.1 to evaluate the quality of literature. The information in the form is input into RevMan 5.3 software for Meta-analysis.Two the classification data use the advantage ratio of treatment, the average of continuous data is poor, and the 95% confidence interval can be used in both data. The results of heterogeneity test were realized by chi square test.If the result of heterogeneity test(P>0.05),it is considered that the independent study is homogeneity, and the combined statistics are calculated by the fixed effect model. If the heterogeneity test results(P<0.05),it is considered that the inclusion study is heterogeneous and can be treated with the methods of sensitivity analysis or subgroup analysis. The fixed effect model is used again.ResultA total of 10 articles, including 8 articles in English and 2 articles in Chinese, were included in the study.A total of 4781 patients with chronic neck pain were included in this study. Its origin is outpatient or inpatient department. All the cases included in the study were 4781 cases.Sex is not limited, but the proportion of women is large.Bias risk assessment was conducted in the Cochrane Handbook 5.1bias risk assessment tool,3 high bias risk and 7 moderate bias risk.Meta-analysis showed that acupuncture treatment of chronic neck pain neck pain, compared with other therapies, has a better effect. The improvement of neck motion range and quality of life had no obvious advantage compared with the control group, but all of themimproved.Because the heterogeneity of the study is too large, the interpretation of the results should be cautious.Conclusion(1)Acupuncture and moxibustion treatment of chronic neck pain has a good effect on neck pain, neck disability, neck activity range and quality of life. However, due to the excessive heterogeneity of the study, the interpretation of the results should be cautious. However, acupuncture and false acupuncture are better than those without treatment. Therefore, acupuncture is recommended as a supplement to conventional therapy.(2)Acupuncture is a safe,non-side effect therapy for chronic neck pain.Acupuncture and moxibustion therapy is a safer treatment plan, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
