Objective To compare the differences of visfatin and PPAR? between pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus and normal pregnancy. Methods 80 cases of pregnant women for elective cesarean section termination of pregnancy from May 2015 to May 2017 in our hospital were selected, these pregnant women were divided into gestational diabetes mellitus group(n=40)and normal pregnancy group(n=40)two groups on the basis of types, the basic data, maternal and cord blood visfatin levels and birth body weights,PI indexes, placenta visfatin and m RNA protein expressions levels, placental tissue PPAR m RNA and protein expression levels and relationships of the two groups of pregnant women were statistically analyzed. Results The pregnancy weight, pregnancy BMI,FPG and Hb A1 C of the diabetic group were significantly higher than the normal pregnancy group(P<0.05);The maternal and umbilical cord blood visfatin levels of the gestational diabetes mellitus group were significantly lower than the normal pregnancy group(P<0.05);The neonatal birth weight and PI index of the gestational diabetes mellitus group were significantly higher than the normal pregnancy group(P<0.05);The differences of placental tissues maternal visfatin m RNA and protein expression levels between the two groups were not significant(P>0.05);The placenta PPAR? m RNA and protein expression levels of the gestational diabetes mellitus group were significantly lower than the normal pregnancy group(P<0.05);The visfatin level and pregnancy weight before pregnancy, pregnancy weight and BMI of the gestational diabetes mellitus group were significantly positively correlated(P<0.05),the serum visfatin levels and FPG,FINS,HOMA-IR of the normal pregnancy group were significantly positively correlated(P<0.05);The umbilical cord blood visfatin levels and maternal serum visfatin levels and neonatal birth weights of the two groups were not correlated(P>0.05);The placenta visfatin m RNA expression of the diabetic pregnant women group showed significant positive correlation wtih umbilical cord blood level and visfatin levels of the placenta of normal pregnancy group(P<0.05),the visfatin m RNA expression level and the basic data, maternal and umbilical cord serum visfatin levels were not correlated(P>0.05);The placenta visfatin m RNA showed significant positive correlation with PPAR ? m RNA(P<0.05),the visfatin protein and PPAR ? m RNA and protein expression levels showed no correlations(P>0.05).Conclusion Visfatin is involved in the regulation of blood glucose balance during normal pregnancy, and the level of visfatin is lower in gestational diabetes mellitus.Visfatin lowering is involved in the development and progression of gestational diabetes mellitus. There was positively relationship between visfatin and PPARgamma m RNA expression in placenta.PPAR gamma regulates the expression of visfatin gene in placenta tissue.
