Objecive To investigate the association of serum sclerostin and coronary artery calcification(CAC),bone mineral density(BMD)and mineral metabolic disorders in patients on continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis. Methods 66 patients who were on CAPD in the Qingdao Municiple Hospital were enrolled prospectibely.Serum sclerostin was tested by ELISA,and we devided the patients into 2 groups(group A and group B)depend on the level of the serum sclerostin. The CAC was measured by mult?slice computed tomography(MSCT)scanning, and the CAC score(CACs)was calculated use dual?energy X?ray absorptiometry(DXA)to measure the BMD and T values of lumbar spine and hip.And collect the patient's clinical data and blood biochemical indicators. And analyse the association of serum sclerostin with vascular calcification and bone mineral density. Results Group A(sclerostin > 117pg/m L)CACs compared with group B(sclerostin<117pg/m L),(533.82±124.45 VS 128.08±114.58,P<0.05).Group A CACs compared with group B,(533.82±124.45 VS 128.08±114.58,P<0.05).There was positively correlation between serum sclerostin and CACs(r=0.962,p<0.05),i PTH(r=0.319,p<0.05),and there was a negatively BMD(r=?0.78,p<0.05).While there was no significant correlation of serum calcium. Conclusions Vascular calcification and mineral metabolism disorders are the frequent complications in CAPD patient. The level of serum sclerostin may be correlated with the CAC?BMD and i PTH.We can detect the sclerostin to evaluate the CAC and BMD,and guide clinical treatment.
