Abstract/Summary:
OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the efficacy of metadoxine in the treatment of alcoholic liver disease(ALD).METHODS:Data bases of Pub Med、Cochrane Library、MEDLINE、EMBASE、Web of Science 、Chinese Journal Net Database(CNKI)、Wanfang data base were used to search Chinese/English articles about the application of metadoxine in the treatment of alcoholic liver disease(ALD),which were analyzed by randomized controlled clinical trials(RCTs).meta-analyses were performed by the software Review manager 5.3.RESULTS:A total of 10 randomized controlled trials were included.Meta-analysis showed that the total effective rate in both metadoxine single group and drug combination group is better than the control group﹝RR=1.71,95%CI(1.40,2.10),P <0.00001;RR=1.33,95%CI(1.14,1.55),P =0.0003﹞;And compared with the control group, the ALT decrease,AST decrease,GGT decrease, cholesterol decrease of both metadoxine single group and drug combination group have statistical significance(P <0.05).The drug combination group can decrease the total bilirubin and triglyceride levels, the difference was statistically significant(statistical results are as follows: WMD=-18.93,95%CI(-20.48,-17.39),P < 0.00001,WMD=-0.92,95%CI(-1.68,-0.16),P = 0.02),while metadoxine group reduced total bilirubin and triglyceride compared with the control group did not differ significantly(statistical results were P = 0.16;P = 0.13)The use of metadoxine combined with other positive drugs in patients with severe alcoholic hepatitis can significantly reduce the incidence of recent deaths.CONCLUSION : metadoxine can improve liver function, total bilirubin and blood lipids in ALD patients, reduce the recent death of patients with severe alcoholic hepatitis, and have a certain clinical value in the treatment of ALD.
