Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the changes of peripheral red blood cell distribution width(RDW)at the early stage of AMI and its correlation with high-sensitivity cardiac troponin T(hs-cTnT),and analyze the diagnostic threshold value of RDW at the early stage of AMI.Methods: We retrospected 56 patients who complained mainly about “chest pain”and got treatment in the vasculocardiology deparment of the second affiliated hospital of Chongqing medical university within 4 hours from October 2015 to October 2017.We made a combined test of the values of RDW and hs-cTnT in the routine examination of the patients, and divided the patients into AMI(n=30)group and Non-AMI(n=26)group according to the results of coronary angiogram, explored the relationship between RDW and hs-cTn T in the two groups, specified the critical value of RDW in early diagnosing AMI.Results: The value of RDW of group AMI was much higher than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The value of hs-cTnT increased obviously of those with higher RDW in AMI group, and the relation of them was positive(r=0.583,P<0.01).The under area of receiver operating characteristic curves of RDW assisting the diagnose of AMI was 0.823(95%CI 0.710-0.937,P<0.05).The threshold value of RDW was 13.0%,the sensitivity was 73.3%,the specificity was 15.4% at the early stage diagnosis of AMI.Conclusion: The value of RDW was significantly increased and positively correlated with the value of hs-cTnT in patients with AMI.Hence,RDW maybe a promising auxiliary indicator for the early diagnosis of AMI.
