Background:Herpes zoster is a common infectious disease caused by reactivation of varicella zoster virus which is latent in the ganglion. This disease may lead to Unilateral painful papules.,and may be accompanied secondary infection, etc.Statins are widely used in clinical practice as a lipid-regulating drug. Most recently, several researches abroad suggested the likely association bewteen the application of statins and the occurance of herpes zoster. However, there are limited data on this study in China. Objective:To analyze the clinical characteristics of herpes zoster and to explore the relationship between the incidence of herpes zoster and the use of statins. Methods:Totally 731 cases of herpes zoster patients in the first affiliated hospital of chongqing medical university from November 2014 to November 2016 were collected as herpes zoster group, meanwhile 731 cases of non-herpes zoster patients were matched as the control group. The research objects of general information include gender, age, smoking history, drinking history, body mass index(BMI),lipid levels, comorbidities, statins and antiplatelet aggregation drug usage. To analyze the characteristics of gender and age distribution in herpes zoster patients, and to observe the relationship between herpes zoster and smoking&drinking history,BMI,lipid level, comorbidities, the usage of statin and antiplatelet agglutination drugs.According to the age, patients of herpes zoster group were divided into<30 years old subgroup(49 cases),31-60 years old subgroup(261 cases),and>60 years old subgroup(421 cases),characteristics of herpes zoster were compared in each subgroup. Results:The utilization rate of statins in herpes zoster group was higher than the control group(P<0.05).Among patients in herpes zoster group, there were 446 cases(61.0%)with comorbidities,in which 228 cases(51.1%)were combined with>2 kinds of comorbidities. The most common comorbidities of herpes zoster patients were 242 cases of hypertension(54.3%)and 134 cases of diabetes(30.0%).The incidence of herpes zoster in different age groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).Statins usage and the incidence of hypertension, other cardiovascular diseases except hypertension and stroke in>60 years old subgroup was higher than<60 years old patients(P<0.05).The incidence of diabetes mellitus of 31-60 years old subgroup was higher than<30 years old subgroup(P<0.05).The incidence of tumor in<30 years old subgroup was higher than 31-60 years old and>60 years old subgroups(P<0.05).The incidence of connective tissue disease in ?30 years old subgroup was higher than>60 years old subgroup(P<0.05).Conclusion:The occurance of herpes zostr may be linked with increased age and stains usage.
