OBJECTIVE To evaluate the value of conventional ultrasound combined with contrast-enhanced ultrasonography(CEUS)in the diagnosis of metastatic sentinel lymph nodes(SLN)in breast cancer.METHODS 39 patients with breast cancer underwent routine ultrasound and CEUS as well to diagnose SLN.The CEUS were given score according to the SLN enhancement mode.Conventional ultrasound was assessed by the sum of scores for criteria.Sensitivity, accuracy, specificity, negative and positive predictive value of three groups were calculated and compared according to the pathological results. Results With the optimal cutoff value was 1.5,conventional ultrasound showed the sensitivity, specificity,PPV and NPV were 78.6%,84%,73.3% and 87.5% respectively. With the optimal cutoff value was 2.5,CEUS showed the sensitivity, specificity,PPV and NPV were 78.6%,88%,78.6% and 88% respectively. The sensitivity, specificity and PPV and NPV of conventional ultrasound combined with CEUS were 92.8%,76%,68.4% and 95%,respectively.Conclusion The combination of the two methods in the diagnosis of metastatic SLN has higher sensitivity and NPV,with similarity specificity and PPV.
