Multiphase CT Angiography(mCTA),as a new imaging technology, could provide three-phases vessel images, and have the property of time-resolved,these phases were peak arterial phase, peak venous phase and late venous phase. It was used to evaluate vascular-access problems, such as the secondary collateral circulations. It also could assess cerebral venous pressure via the extend of contrast washout, and evaluate hemorrhagic transformation via changes of vascular permeability,as well as measure the thrombus traits such as length and perviousness of thrombus.Clinically, using mCTA to evaluate secondary collateral circulations can help evaluate brain tissue perfusion, make protocols of endovascular treatments. It can guide doctors to assess the revascularization ratio, hazard of hemorrhagic transformation, and clinical outcome of the patients. In this review, the mechanism of mCTA,the assessment method of secondary collateral circulations, also the relationship of spot sign and vascular permeability,as well as thrombus traits and length were reviewed to promote doctors to well apply mCTA in treatment of acute ischemic stroke(AIS).
