Immunotherapy For Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome

When acute respiratory distress syndrome occurs,the immune cells of the body are excessively activated,causing inflammatory cascade reaction in the lung.Because of this intense inflammatory response against lung tissue,the integrity of lung epithelial cells and vascular endothelial is destroyed,leading to a series of changes of pulmonary edema,alveolar hemorrhage and formation of transparent film.Pathogenesis of ARDS is complex,and the inflammatory response is throughout in this progress.Dendritic cells,mesenchymal stem cells,erythropoietin and some drugs such as statins,heparin,ulin-astatin,Chinese medicine can improve the inflammatory response of lung in disorder by immune mediate methods of immune cells,gene expression mediated by signaling pathways which provide prospects for the treatment of acute respiratory distress syndrome.
