Objective:To study the correlation between serum cystatin C level and degree of stenosis / occlusion of responsible arteries in patients with acute mild stroke. Methods:The patients come from the Department of Neurology, the second Clinical College of China Medical University, from January 2014 to July 2017.118 patients with acute mild ischemic stroke(82 males and 36 females)were admitted to the Department of Neurology, second Clinical College of China Medical University from January 2014 to July 2017.The related clinical data were collected.According to the progress of the disease and the change of NIHSS score during hospitalization, the patients with mild acute stroke were divided into two groups: no progress group(n = 75)and advanced group(n = 43).According to craniocerebral MRA and cervical vascular ultrasound, the progressive group was divided into four groups: no stenosis, mild stenosis and moderate stenosis.Severe stenosis / occlusion. Results: 1.The level of cystatin C in patients with mild acute stroke progression was significantly higher than that in patients without progression, and the difference was statistically significant(P =0.013)..2.The degree of intracranial vascular stenosis / occlusion in the patients with light stroke in the acute stage was significantly higher than that in the non progression group, and the difference was statistically significant(P=0.001).3.The level of cystatin C and the degree of occlusion of severe stenosis were closely related to the progression of acute light stroke. The OR values were 3.714 and 5.932 respectively.cystatin C level associated with severe intracranial stenosis occlusion was also associated with progress in acute light stroke,OR = 5.278.Conclusion:The level of cystatin C was significantly increased in patients with mild acute stroke.Vascular assessment showed that the degree of stenosis / occlusion of intracranial responsible arteries was more severe in many patients with progression of the disease, and both alone and in combination were closely related to the progression of the disease. The level of cystatin C and the degree of stenosis / occlusion of intracranial responsible arteries may be one of the independent risk factors for the progression of mild stroke. So as to carry out early intervention treatment.
