Objective: In recent years, more and more researches have been done on nutritional status in patients with mental disorders. At present, the study on nutritional status of psychosis patients in Liaoning province is still less, therefore, this study through face-to-face questionnaire investigation and assessment of the nutritional status of patients with mental disorders, and to study the relationship between micronutrient intake and mental scale scores, then analyze the effect of micronutrient on psychiatric symptoms in patients with mental disorders, and to provide theoretical basis for the adjuvant treatment for the antipsychotic drugs. Methods: Selection of the First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University and Liaoning mental health center have been diagnosed with psychosis patients as the research object, using the method of face to face questionnaire, the questionnaire included demographic data, nutrition assessment scale, three days and 24 hour dietary questionnaire, psychiatric symptoms rating scales. The database was established by using Excel. The statistical data of SPSS19.0 were used for statistical analysis of the data. Results: 1.A total of 149 cases were investigated in this questionnaire,of which 57 were male and 92 were female. With body mass index as the standard, the rate of overweight and obesity in patients with mental disorder was 48.99%,with the waist to hip ratio as the standard, the central obesity rate of the patients with mental disorder was 60.40%.The malnutrition rate of mental disorder patients was 10.74%,and the nutritional risk rate was 10.07%.2.The daily food intake of cereals in patients with mental disorders was 325 g,vegetable intake was 200 g,bean intake was 50 g,egg intake was 50 g,meat intake was 39 g,fruit intake was 10 g,aquatic products and milk intake were rare. The intake of dietary nutrients compared with DRIs,the intake of VA,VB1,VB2,VC,potassium,magnesium and selenium in male patients accounted for 31.41%,38.57%,80.71%,81.89%,76.42%,81.65%,39.72% of the reference intake respectively. The intake of VA,VB1,VB2,VC,potassium,magnesium and selenium in female patients accounted for 30.29%,45%,61.67%,64.89%,61.6%,69.38%,39.37% of the reference intake respectively. The protein, fat and carbohydrate three energy supply ratio of psychiatric patients are 14%,30% and 56% respectively.3.There are negative correlation between VB2,VC,VPP intake and HAMA score,HAMD score; There are negative correlation between trace elements of potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, manganese and HAMD score,HAMA score,BPRS score. There are negative correlation between trace elements of zinc and HAMD score,HAMA score. Conclusions: 1.Patients with mental disorders have higher obesity rate, higher malnutrition rate and nutritional risk, and patients face the dual risk of obesity and malnutrition.2.The type of food in the mental patients is more single, their dietary structure also was based on Cereals, and the patient's intake of vegetables, fruit, aquatic products, milk and meat is very small. There are inadequate intake of micronutrients such as VA,VB1,VB2,VC,potassium,sodium,calcium,magnesium and selenium in patients with mental disorders. The ratio of carbohydrate, protein and fat is reasonable.3.Micronutrients,such as VB2,VC,VE,VPP,potassium,calcium,magnesium,iron,manganese,zinc,phosphorus and selenium, may help improve mental symptoms in patients with mental disorders.
