Objective:To investigate the prevalence of hypertension among HIV-infected patients receiving highly active antiviral therapy(HAART)and to explore its influence factors,so as to provide evidence for blood pressure management of HAART HIV-infected patients in the future. Methods:A cross-sectional study design is applied. From October 2017 to February 2018,398 HAART HIV-infected outpatients from a infections disease hospital in Yunnan Province are selected for structured questionnaire and physical examination.HIV related characteristics are extracted from the national HIV epidemiology and treatment database.Univariable and multivariable logistic regression are performed to explore the determinants of hypertension.Results:1.The hypertension prevalence is reported 33.20%among 398 HAART HIV-infected outpatients. The hypertension prevalence is not statistic different between male and female outpatient, but patients aged 60 or above has a significantly higher prevalence of hypertension than 40-59 years old individuals(47.0%vs 28.5%,p=0.001).2.The univariable logistic regression results show that HIV-infected individuals aged 60 or above has 2.22 times risk of hypertension as 40-59 years old individuals. The risk of hypertension for those with family hypertension history is 24.36 times as those without family history. The risk of high blood pressure for those with overweight and obesity is as 3.16 and 4.47 times respectively as those with normal body mass index individuals. In addition, with increased BMI,the risk for hypertension is increasing.HIV-infected individuals with depression has 3.03 time risk of hypertension in comparison with individuals without depression. However, this study has not been found that sex, ethnic, smoking everyday, smoking years, smoking frequency,Nicotine dependence levels, alcohol drinking, excessive salt intake, regular physical exercise,TC,TG,blood glucose are associated with hypertension.3.Multivariable logistic regression analysis results show that HIV-infected individuals aged 60 or above has 2.19 times risk of hypertension as 40-59 years old individuals(95%CI:1.04-4.63,p=0.040).The risk of hypertension for those with family hypertension history is 21.70 times as those without family history(95%CI:6.0 7-77.55,p=0.000).Individuals with excessive salt intake has 2.27 times risk as those under recommended dose from the World Health Organization(95%CI:1.12-4.27,p=0.028).In comparison with normal weights, individuals with overweight and obesity has 2.40 times risk at hypertension(95%CI:1.17-4.91,p=0.016).However,sex,age,smoking,alcohol drinking, central obesity,Nadir CD4,recent CD4,recent virus load, years for HAART,treatment without PIs are not associated with hypertension in the multivariable logistic regression analysis.Conclusions:1.Hypertension has a certain prevalence among HIV-infected individuals receiving HAART.It is recommended that clinic doctors and case managers strengthen the patients' blood pressure monitoring and management in their daily work.2.This study explored that old age, overweight and obesity, family history of hypertension, excessive salt intake is the potential risk factors for hypertension among HIV-infected HAART outpatiends.3.It is not detected the association between HAART and hypertension in this study.
