Abstract/Summary:
Culex pipiens pollens is widely distributed in the north area of China,which not only is a victim of many diseases such as filariasis and epidemic encephalitis B but also is an imortant hygienic pest in the world.Chemical control is the main control method to date,however,it caused many problems,such as environmental pollution,insect resistance and damagation to non-target organisms or other issues.Thus it is imperative to look for efficient and environmentally friendly methods of prevention.Currently,the use of how insects find their food according to the odors released by-host to develop more efficient attractive substance is a hot research spot.Combined with anti-mosquito brake to control mosquitoes,this text mainly studied volatile compounds that are attractive to the Culex pipiens mosquitoes.The main research is as follows:(1)In order to investigate the density of adult mosquitoes in nine residential communities in Hangzhou,three methods were used in this text,which were artificial attracting method,ultraviolet light lure method and mosquito trap box trapping meth-od.The mean density of adult mosquitoes was 16.3 individuals per person by artificial lure method,UV-induced light was 2.9 individuals per lamp/hourand the mosquito trap trapping method was 7.7 individuals per box.(2)Screening the effective blood meal compounds to the Culex pipiens pallens using Y-type olfactometer in indoor conditions:screening 11 different blood meal compounds in four different concentrations,the results showed that geranylacetone 10ug/Kg,benzaldehyde 10 ug/Kg,1-octen-3-ol 0.1 ug/Kg,n-hexylaldehyde lug/Kg,myristic acid 5ug/Kg,propionic acid 5ug/Kg are effectively attractive compounds.Mixed those compounds,46 compounds were tested for attracting effects,17 of which were significantly attractive to Culex pipiens pollens compared to the control.(3)Field study on the effect of the mixtures:The effects of 17 mixtures were studied.The blend of 28 mixed by 1-octen-3-ol,n-hexylaldehyde and myristic acid was the most attractive compound to Culex pipiens pallens,the difference was signif-icant compared with the control,and the average number of adult mosquitoes induced by each trapping box was 6.3.Except 4 mixtures that mixed by benzaldehyde +n-hexylaldehyde,benzaldehyde + 1-octen-3-ol + n-hexylaldehyde + propionicacid,geranylacetone + benzaldehyde + 1-octen-3-ol + n-hexylaldehyde and geranylacetone+ benzene formaldehyde + n-hexylaldehyde + 1-octen-3-ol + myristic acidthe re-spectively,the remaining 13 mixtures showed significant differences compared with the control,even very significant difference.
