Objective:The aim of this study was to determine the risk factors that associated with the different levels of blood transfusion in cesarean section deliveries.Subjects and Methods:This was a retrospective study conducted in Jilin University First Hospital of China. The data of 153 patients who received blood transfusions during a cesarean section between December 2016 and December 2017 were obtained.According to the number of units of red blood cells transfused, three subgroups were Created. There were 100 patients included into the group who received mild transfusion,32 in the moderate transfusion, and 21 in the massive transfusion.20 patients who suffered from postpartum hemorrhage(PPH)but did not require blood transfusion were selected as the non-transfused group.A logistic regression model with generalized estimating equation was used to calculate the adjusted odds ratio(OR)for the potential risk factors.Results:1.From the perspective of blood transfusion therapy, gestational week(OR=0.948)and the Hb levels(OR=0.955)were associated with risk factors for blood transfusion.2.Women with placenta previa(OR=10.971)had a tendency to accept blood transfusion during surgery.3.With the increase in the amount of blood transfusion, the RBC levels of the patients gradually decreased;the Hb levels of the mothers in each blood transfusion group were significantly lower than those of the non-blood transfusion group;the PLT levels in the mild blood transfusion group were lower than those in the non-blood transfusion group;the TT levels in each blood transfusion group were higher than those in the non-blood transfusion group. There was a difference in APTT levels between the four groups. The PT levels in the moderate blood transfusion group were different from those in the non-blood transfusion group and the mild transfusion group. The presence of placenta previa and placenta accreta was statistically different between groups.Conclusion:1.Placenta previa, placenta accreta, gestational week, and Hb levels are the factors for blood transfusion during cesarean section.2.It is important to monitor the levels of PT,APTT,TT and PLT to understand the status of maternal blood coagulation.
