Purpose:To compare the efficacy ofelectrocautery and suture method forhemostasisof cold knife conization.Methods:183 patients who underwent cold knife conization were categorized into two groups:the electrocautery group(n=94),and the suture group(n=89).Blood loss during operation, operative time, and incidence of complications were compared. Results:The suture group had significantly higher estimated blood loss than the other group. The electrocautery group had significantly shorter operative time than the other groups. The operation-related complication rate of cautery group was not significantly differentfromthe rate of suture group(P>0.05).Conclusions:electrocautery is superior to suture with significantly less blood loss and shorter operative time.
