First part:Multivariate Analysis of MR Imaging Features of Benign and Malignant MeningiomaObjective:To investigate the differences of MR imaging features between benign and malignant meningioma.Materials and methods:The MR imaging features and clinical data of 200 cases of benign meningioma and 54 cases of malignant meningioma were retrospectively analyzed.Statistical methods of t test,?2 test, rank sum test and Logistic Regression were included. Results:Between benign and malignant meningioma, there were statistically differences in many indicators by univariate analysis(P<0.05),including sex, age, size, lobulation sign, intratumoral cystic or necrosis, the type of dural attachment,'dural tail' and the shape of 'dural tail',peritumoral and intratumoral blood vessels and peritumoral edema. There were statistically differences in many indicators by multivariate analysis(P<0.05),including sex, age, size, lobulation sign, the type of dural attachment, the shape of 'dural tail',peritumoral and intratumoral blood vessels and peritumoral edema. Conclusion:Differential diagnosis of benign and malignant meningioma is difficult, but many indicators suggest malignant, such as lager tumor(>5cm),lobulation sign, narrow basement connecting with the dura mater, short, thick and irregular 'dural tail',obvious peritumoral and intratumoral blood vessels and severe peritumoral edema.Second part:Multivariate Analysis of MR Imaging Features of Intracranial Grade I Solitary Fibrous Tumor/Hemangiopericytoma and Benign MeningiomaObjectives:To investigate the differences of MR imaging features between intracranial grade ? solitary fibrous tumor/hemangiopericytoma(SFT/HPC)and benign meningioma. Methods:The MR imaging features and clinical data of 21 cases of grade ? SFT/HPC and 71 cases of benign meningioma were retrospectively analyzed.Statistical methods of t test,x2 test, rank sum test and Logistic Regression were included. Results:There were statistically differences of age,sex and multiple MR imaging features(lobulation, the wall of peritumoral cystic lesion with enhancement,'yin-yang' sign, intratumoral cystic or necrosis, homogeneous degree of tumor enhancement, the type of dural attachment,'dural tail' and the length of 'dural tail')between two groups by univariate analysis(P<0.05).Among these imaging features,'yin-yang' sign is observed only in grade ? SFT/HPC group. For the other imaging features, there were statistically differences of lobulation and the type of dural attachment between two groups by multivariate analysis(P<0.05).Conclusion:Dural tumors with MR imaging features of typical 'yin-yang' sign, deep lobulation and narrow base were inclined to be diagnosed as grade ? SFT/HPC.Meanwhile,combining with the other univariate analysis results is helpful for diagnosis and differential diagnosis grade ? SFT/HPC from benign meningioma.
