Objective Through the visual analysis of the research areas of hypertension and depression,to grasp the research status, research hotspots and frontiers in the field at home and abroad, and then analyze the current status of hypertension and depression in middle-aged and elderly people in China, and further explore the relationship between hypertension and depression. The purpose is to provide a scientific basis for improving the depression status of middle-aged and elderly hypertensive people and improving the quality of life of the patients.Method(1)Through Web of Science and CNKI database to search the literature which were published in the field of the correlation between hypertension and depression from the establishment of the database to December 31,2017,and then drawing a map of the knowledge of hypertension and depression at home and abroad by CiteSpace V,including Institutional analysis,Journal analysis, key words analysis, literature co-citation analysis.(2)Using China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Survey data to analyze the prevalence and association of hypertension and depression in Middle-aged and old people in China.Results(1)"Web of Science core collection" database search 5266 articles.Analysis results show: The literature is from 489 research institutions.Harvard University is the highest cited university with the highest frequency. The top ten most cited institutions are American famous universities. The most frequently cited journal is JAMA-J AM MED ASSOC and the impact factor is 44.406.It is the core journals in the field.Foreign language keywords collinear network consists of 383 nodes and 819 lines, which are divided into 12 main clusters. The focus of international research in this field is cardiovascular disease, elderly depressive patients, rat experiments, blood pressure variability, and interpersonal stress. The literature citation network consists of 519 nodes and 515 links, which are divided into 17 main clusters. There are six main frontiers of international research in this field: The effect of different drugs in the treatment of patients with hypertension and depression, the risk of disease with different characteristics, the interaction mechanism of hypertension and depression, the drug compliance, chronic medical conditions mediate the association between depression and cardiovascular disease mortality;the possible consequences of antidepressant drugs for women in pregnancy.(2)A total of 1137 literatures are searched by CNKI.Analysis results show: The Chinese key word common line network is composed of 159 nodes and 574 links, which are divided into 7 main clusters. The five hottest cooccurring keywords are anxiety, hypertension in the elderly, anxiety and depression, quality of life, and the elderly. The focus of domestic research in this field is hypertension, depression and anxiety and its correlation, psychological nursing intervention, and the effect of different drug treatment.(3)The prevalence of hypertension is 38.27% in middle-aged and old people in China. The prevalence of hypertension in men is higher than that in women and the risk of developing hypertension increased with age.Gender, age, place of residence in cities and towns, eastern regions,non-marriage(unmarried,divorced,widowed),education at primary and lower levels, obesity, diabetes, dyslipidemia, and stroke may be risk factors for hypertension.(4)The incidence of depression is 33.83% in middle-aged and old people in China. The incidence of depression in women is significantly higher than that in men.65~ age group, living in rural areas,non-marriage,illiteracy,lack of social activities and short sleep time may be risk factors for depression.(5)The prevalence of hypertension and depression is 13.54% in middle-aged and old people in China. The mean score of depression in the middle-aged and elderly patients with hypertension was significantly higher than that in the non-hypertension group(P<0.001).The incidence of depression in the hypertension group was 35.38%,which was higher than the 32.87% in the non-hypertension group(P=0.001).By multivariate logistic regression analysis, hypertension may be an independent risk factor for depression. The prevalence rate of hypertension in the depression group was 40.03%,which was higher than that of the non-depression group 37.07%(P=0.001).By multivariate logistic regression analysis, depression may be an independent risk factor for hypertension. Therefore, there is a significantly association between hypertension and depression.Conclusion(1)In the research areas related to hypertension and depression, domestic research hotspots are mainly the study on the relationship between anxiety, depression and hypertension, psychological nursing intervention, different drug treatment effects. The frontiers of international research mainly including the effect of different drugs in the treatment of patients with hypertension and depression, the risk of disease with different characteristics, the interaction mechanism of hypertension and depression, the drug compliance, chronic medical conditions mediate the association between depression and cardiovascular disease mortality and the possible consequences of antidepressant drugs for women in pregnancy.(2)Gender,age,place of residence in cities and towns, eastern regions,non-marriage(unmarried,divorced,wido-wed),education at primary and lower levels, obesity, diabetes, dyslipidemia, and stroke may be risk factors for hypertension.65-74 age group, living in rural areas,non-marriage,illiteracy,lack of social activities and short sleep time may be risk factors for depression. There is a significantly association between hypertension and depression. Therefore,in the process of prevention and treatment of hypertension,we should be attention to the patient's depression and improve their quality of life.
