Clinical Significance Of Serum P?NP And Gal-3 In Chronic Heart Failure

Objective: The purpose of this study was to detect the levels of serum N-terminal peptide of Type III procollagen(PIIINP)and Galectin-3(Gal-3)in patients with chronic heart failure,to discuss the relationship between functional parameters and the correlation between PIIINP and Gal-3 in patients with chronic heart failure and evaluate their clinical significance in chronic heart failure.Materials and Methods: A total of 173 hospitalized patients in 2nd Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University from August 2016 to June 2017 were divided into CHF group(n=122)and control group(n=51).Venous blood was drawn from all hospitalized patients.Serums were centrifuged and stored at low temperature to detect Gal-3.Venous blood was collected for determination of NT-pro BNP and P?NP.The patients underwent Cardiac Color Doppler Ultrasonography to measure the Left Ventricular End-diastolic Diameter(LVEDD)and Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction(LVEF).SPSS22.0 statistical software package was used for statistical analysis,in order to observe P?NP and Gal-3 level in CHF patients,and to explore the correlation between them and NT-pro BNP,LVEDD,LVEF respectively.Results: 1.The level of P?NP in CHF group was significantly higher than that in control group(p<0.01).The level of P?NP in CHF group was positively correlated with NT-pro BNP level(r=0.372,p<0.01),and positively correlated with LVEDD level(r=0.338,p<0.001),and negatively correlated with LVEF(r=-0.392,p=0.002).2.The level of Gal-3 in CHF group was significantly higher than that in control group(p<0.01).The level of Gal-3 in CHF group was positively correlated with NT-pro BNP level(r=0.418,p<0.01),and positively correlated with LVEDD level(r=0.339,p=0.006),and negatively correlated with LVEF(r=-0.349,p<0.01).3.The level of Gal-3 in CHF group was positively correlated with P?NP level(r=0.373,p<0.01).Conclusion: 1.The level of P ? NP was elevated in CHF group,and positively correlated with the severity of CHF,indicating that the more serious degree of CHF,the higher degree of myocardial fibrosis.2.The level of Gal-3 was increased in CHF group,and positively correlated with the severity of CHF,indicating that Gal-3 may reflect the severity of CHF.3.There was a positive correlation between Gal-3 and P?NP levels in CHF group,suggesting that Gal-3 level may be valuable to assess the myocardial fibrosis level of CHF patients.
