Objective:A mid-term follow-up study was conducted after the primary Total Hip Arthroplasty patients for the clinical efficacy and imaging evaluation in order to study the hip function and the survival of the prosthesis so as to guide the selection of prosthesis types and joint interface in clinical treatment.Method:A total of 187 patients undergoing total hip replacement from July2006 to July 2012 in Department of Orthopaedics of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous region people's Hospital were followed up by clinical and imaging studies.Up to the last follow-up,138 patients with total hip arthroplasty were followed up.The average follow-up time was 7.5±1.7 years. The clinical follow-up included the evaluation of hip joint function before operation, early and last follow-up after operation with harris score, and the recording of any complications associated with the operation. The bone around the prosthesis and the position of the artificial prosthesis were evaluated by imaging follow up.According to the pelvic orthograph and the affected hip lateral position, the imaging analysis was carried out by Gruen femur division method and Delee-Charnley acetabular division method. Results:The follow-up rate was 73.80%,of which 74 male patients with 90 hips,64 female patients with 67 hips,Average Harris Hip Score was(44.15 ±15.06)points(5 to 72 points)preoperatively and(91.27 ±9.14)points(34 to 100 points)at the final follow-up.Among them,excellent(94hip),good(48hip),excellent rate was90.45%.The revision rate of cementless handle prosthesis was 3.5%,and that of cement handle prosthesis was 12.5%,the revision rate of Ceramic on Ceramic was 2.0%,and that of Ceramic on Polyethylene was 5.7%.24 hips of postoperative complications were osteolysis. There were 15 cases of claudication,8 hips of ectopic ossification,7 hips of aseptic loosening of prosthesis,4 hips of thigh pain,no deep venous thrombosis, prosthetic infection, dislocation and periprosthetic fracture.Conclusions:1.The hip joint function and quality of life were improved significantly in the middle follow-up after THA,and there was a good clinical effect in the treatment of hip diseases.2.The outcome of prosthesis survival was satisfactory in the middle period of follow-up after THA.There was no significant difference in survival between different prosthesis types and joint interfaces. The long-term effect needs further long-term follow-up study.
