Objective The patients with cardiac arrest who required advanced life support,it was not only need regular chest compressions, but also had effective ventilation. At present, endotracheal intubation may be the most reliable method for managing the airway during CPR.This study was designed to compare the effect of visual laryngoscope and traditional laryngoscope in emergency care. Methods The Emergency Department and Emergency Intensive Care Unit of the Second Hospital of Anhui Medical University selected the case who performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation from March 2012 to March 2016,Seventy-eight patients with tracheal intubation were divided into two groups: Traditional laryngoscope group(Group A)and Visual laryngoscope group(Group B).The successful cases of tracheal intubation, the time it took to expose the glottis, the time it took to intubate the whole trachea and the total number of tracheal intubation times to open the airway were counted.Dynamic changes of fingertip oxygen saturation and tracheal intubation associated complications were recorded.Data of age, sex, height, weight and admission time were recorded and analyzed. Results There were 43 male patients,25 female patients. There were 36 patients in traditional laryngoscope, including 20 males and 16 females. There were 42 patients in visual laryngoscope, including 23 males and 19 females. The data of age, height, weight and hospitalization time of group A and group B were analyzed by SPSS19.0,the results showed that the indexes had no effect when p>0.05.The time of the tracheal intubation, the total number of intubation and the oxygen saturation of the fingertips were recorded,it was significant when P < 0.05.The success rate of tracheal intubation was calculated when P > 0.05,it was not significant. The rate of tooth injury and the incidence of oral hemorrhage, the glottic exposure rate, airway injury rate and esophageal misinsertion rate were recorded, these were statistically significant when P <0.05.Conclusion In Emergency Department,Visual laryngoscope took less time to expose glottis and total intubation times than traditional laryngoscope in this patients with cardiac arrest who need advanced life support, the success rate of visual laryngoscope and traditional laryngoscope tracheal intubation was little difference, and the incidence of complications of visual laryngoscope was less. Therefore, the visual laryngoscope had a certain advantage in the rescue of serious patients and was worth popularizing in Emergency department.
