Objective:To understand the status of empowerment,self-efficacy and the quality of live of patients with lumbar spinal stenosis; To clarify the influencing factors of empowerment,self-efficacy and the quality of live in patients with lumbar spinal stenosis; To discuss the correlation among empowerment,self-efficacy and the quality of live of patients with lumbar spinal stenosis. Methods:This was a correlation research of non-experimentally study, patients suffered lumbar spinal stenosis who received surgical treatment in three tertiary hospitals of Jilin province were questionaired using convenience sampling method.General situation questionnaire,Chinese version of Patient perception of empowerment scale,PPES,General Self-Efficacy Scale,GSES and SF-36 scale were adopted. The data was analyzed and compared using SPSS 17.0 statistical software; The demographic characteristics,empowerment,self-efficacy and the quality of live of patients with lumbar spinal stenosis were analyzed by frequency, mean, percentage, standard deviation and et al.Univariate analyze and independent sample T test were used to analyze the differences among demographic characteristics of empowerment,self-efficacy and the quality of live in patients with lumbar spinal stenosis;Pearson's correlation analysis was used to confirm the correlation among empowerment,self-efficacy and the quality of live in patients with lumbar spinal stenosis.Results:(1)283 patients were included. The number of male was a little more than female; The age of most investigators was over 60 years old;70%of patients in this survey had a spouse; For the education level, junior high school education occupied the first(37.5%);About half of the patients did heavy labor(47.3%);The income was 1000?3000 yuan monthly in most of patients; The duration of the disease was 1?6 years; Most of patients had medical insurance to pay for the hospital stay.(2)The score of empowerment was(4.31 ±0.53)points.Unirariate analysis showed that age, nationality, place of residence, education level, labor intensity, monthly income, the course of the disease and the understanding about the disease in patients with lumbar spinal stenosis disease influenced to the empowerment level, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(3)The score of general self-efficacy in patients with lumbar spinal stenosis was(2.68 ±0.52)points.Univariate analysis showed that the patient's age, place of residence, education level, pattern of medical care payment and the understanding about the disease influenced to the self-efficacy,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(4)The score of quality of life in patients with lumbar spinal stenosis disease was(60.21 ± 17.89)points.Univariate analysis showed that the factors affecting the quality of life mainly including:education level, labor intensity, the course of the disease, mode of medical care payment and the understanding about the disease.(5)Pearson's correlation analysis showed that there were correlations among empowerment,self-efficacy and quality of life in patients with lumbar spinal stenosis. The empowerment and self-efficacy was positively correlated, and the correlation coefficient was 0.308;Empowerment and quality of life was positively correlated, and the correlation coefficient was 0.203;Self-efficacy and quality of life was positively correlated, the correlation coefficient was 0.202.Conclusion:(1)The empowerment of the patients with lumbar spinal stenosis disease is in a high level.(2)The general self-efficacy of patients with lumbar spinal stenosis disease is in an intermediate-level.(3)The quality of life of patients with lumbar spinal stenosis disease is low.(4)In this study,empowerment,self-efficacy and quality of life are correlated positively and statistically significant.
