Maternal And Fetal Outcome In Pregnancy Induced Hypertension

Background:Pregnancy-induced hypertension is the general classification for hypertension diseases during pregnancy,which include pregnancy-induced hypertension(without proteinuria),pre-eclampsia(with proteinuria),and eclampsia(pre-eclampsia with convulsions).Presence of proteinuria in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy has profound effect on maternal and perinatal outcome.Pregnancy induced hypertension is characterized by hypertension and absence of protinuria.Preeclampsia is characterized by hypertension and proteinuria.This disease is responsible for high maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality rates,and is one of the main public health problems.Objective:To investigate the effect of proteinuria on poor maternal and perinatal outcome.Methods:This is a hospital based retrospective cohort study of maternal and perinatal outcome in pregnancy induced hypertension and preeclampsia.The study was conducted involving 220 cases from obstetric ward from October 2014 to march 2017 in the Third affiliated Hospital of Xinxiang Medical University.In two groups;100 cases with pregnancy induced hypertension;120 cases with preeclamsia.The obstetric and perinatal outcomes(cesarean section,preterm,FGR,APGAR,Still birth,Neonatal death,et al)in two groups were observed.Results:Maternal complications were significant more in preeclampsia group compared to pregnancy induced hypertension group.Preterm deliveries,foetal growth restriction and still birth were more common in preeclampsia group.The rate of cesarean section was more frequent in the group with preeclampsia than pregnancy induced hypertension.Conclusion:Presence of proteinuria is a predictor for poor maternal and perinatal outcome in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.
