Objective:Computed tomography(CT)and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)technology were used to explore the correlation between congenital sensorineural deafness and white matter lesions,to provide imaging basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment of congenital deafness patients.Material and methods:Subjects were divided into three groups by cerebral and inner ear MRI and the clinical diagnosis:patients of sensorineural deafness with white matter lesions(group A,n=196),patients of non-sensorineural deafness but with white matter lesions(group B,n=118),and Subjects of sensorineural deafness without white matter lesions(group C,n=240).White matter lesions were rated according to the cerebral MRI,and the scores were compared between Group A and B,to investigate whether the differences was Statistical significant between these two groups; At the same time, the scores of each part of the white matter lesions were compared between individuals within each group,to explorer whether there was a statistical significant difference. Results:Patients of sensorineural deafness with white matter lesions(group A)was about 45.0%(196/436)of total patients with hearing loss(group A and C).The scores of frontal lobes around lateral ventricles, the body of lateral venticles and the deep white matters of the frontal, parietal, occipital, temporal lobes were compared between group A and group B,The scores in group A were higher than group B,parts of the differences were statistically significant(P?0.05).The total scores of white matter lesions of group A was higher than group B,the difference was statistically significant(P?0.05).The ages of the patients in Group A were lower than that in group B,and the difference was statistically significant(P?0.05).The ages of group A were lower than group C,but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion:According to the comparing of the scores of white matter lesions, indicating that patients of congenital sensorineural deafness with severe white matter lesions and early onset age,and the proportion of patients of sensorineural deafness with white matter lesions was significantly higher, showing certain relationship between sensorineural deafness and white matter lesions.
