Clinical Research On Adults Class Division 2 Malocclusion ? Treated With Damon Q Appliance By Non-extraction

ObjectiveTo compare the three-dimensional changes of dentofacial structure and soft tissue of adults Class? division 2 malocclusion,by measuring the models and lateral cephalograms before and after the treatment.To discuss and analyze the clinical curative effect on adults Class? division 2 malocclusion who were treated with Damon Q appliance by non-extraction,as a reference for clinic.MethodsSelected twenty Class? division 2 malocclusion adult patients who were treated in Department of Orthodontics of Henan Stomatology Hospital during 2014-2015.The patients were treated with Damon Q appliance by non-extraction.The maxillary and mandibular models were made,and the lateral cephalograms and panoramic radiographs were taken before and after the treatment.The models and the X rays were measured,and the data was analyzed by SPSS 21.0 software statistically to compare the changes of dental arch width,dentofacial structure and soft tissue before and after the treatment.ResultsChanges of the dental arch width: After the treatment,maxillary inter-canine width and mandibular inter-canine,inter-premolar,inter-molar width increased,and the data of prior treatment and post-treatment has significant difference(P < 0.05).Maxillary inter-canine and inter-premolar width increased with no statistically significant difference(P > 0.05).Changes of the dentofacial structure and soft tissue: After the treatment,MP-FH,N-Me,ANS-Me,ANS-Me/N-Me,U1-SN,L1-MP and L6-MP increased;U1R-PP,L1R-MP,Si-H line decreased,the differences before and after the treatment had statistical significance(P < 0.05).The date of SNA,SNB,ANB,S-Go,S-Go/N-Me,U6-PP,Cm-Sn-UL,ULP and LLP before and after the treatment had no statistically significant difference(P > 0.05).ConclusionsBy treating with Damon Q appliance without extraction,the locked relationship of anterior tooth was relieved,the relationship between maxillary and mandibular dentition was coordinated,and the dentofacial structure was meliorated in three-dimensional directions.To some extent,the soft tissue profile was improved.Thus,the treatment obtained very good clinical curative effect,which will provide a reference for clinical treatment on adults Class? division 2 malocclusion.
