Objective: The value of news in evaluating the prognosis of elderly trauma patients was determined by the statistical analysis of the relationship between the national early warning score and the APACHE? score and the prognosis of the elderly trauma patients in emergency department. Methods: A single center retrospective study was used to collect the elderly trauma patients from the first aid department of Nanjing military region General Hospital of the Chinese people's Liberation Army from 2016-7-1 to 2017-7-30,and to record the general situation of the patients, such as age, sex, etc.NEWS score and APACHEII score were applied to 396 elderly trauma patients in emergency department, the prognosis of all patients was followed up,the ratio of survival and death was compared between NEWS score and APACHEII score in different scores, and the data were analyzed by SPSS23.0 statistical software.T test was used to compare the measurement data between the two groups, and chi-square test was used to count the data.At the same time, the area area Under ROC curve under the ROC curve was calculated by using the operating characteristic curve of the subjects, and the size of AUC was compared between the two groups. To compare the performance of two scoring systems in evaluating disease and predicting prognosis. Results: There were 396 cases of elderly trauma, including 27 deaths and 6.82%mortality.The NEWS score of the death group was higher than that of the survivalgroup,7.926±2.6592vs2.869±2.5615,the t-value was-9.562,and the P value was0.000,and the difference was statistically significant. There were differences in survival and mortality among risk groups. The ROC curve area of NEWS and APACHE II scores was 0.892,0.903,and p value was 0.7355,with no statistical difference. Conclusion: NEWS and APACHE? scores can be used to determine the condition of emergency treatment in elderly patients with traumatic severity, has certain recognition ability of elderly patients with trauma,NEWS score because its can be in the bed can be fast and convenient to get the results,to evaluate condition, more suitable for early recognition of elderly patients with severe trauma, and APACHEII more applicable to emergency patients under observation and assessment of critical care patients.
