Objective: In this study,we studied the cognition and attitude toward breast milk donation from the mothers of hospitalized children,based on the qualitative and quantitative mixed study.Analyze the status of breastfeeding and the current status of breast milk donors' awareness of Human milk bank.At the same time,corresponding intervention strategies are proposed to provide theoretical basis for further research on breast milk banks in China.Methods: 1.Qualitative Research: From April to May 2017,in the third highest hospital of Changchun City(to establish a breast milk bank),the mothers of 12 hospitalized children were selected for qualitative research.The semi-structured interviewing method was used for data collection.The Colaizzi seven-step analysis method was used to analyze the data.2.Quantitative Research: From June to November 2017,A 220-patient hospitalized mothers was selected to conduct a questionnaire survey using a convenient sampling method in one of the top three hospitals in Changchun City.The questionnaire consists of four parts: general information questionnaire,breastfeeding knowledge questionnaire,donated breast milk knowledge questionnaire,donated breast milk attitude questionnaire.The database was established using Epidata 3.2,and the data was statistically analyzed using SPSS 22.0.The measurement data was described by(mean ± standard deviation),and the count data was described by frequency and percentage.Result: 1.Qualitative results show that there are four themes in the cognitive attitudes of human milk bank in hospitalized children's mothers: Breastfeeding attitudes,the significance of breast-milk donation,donor's concerns,and questions of recipients.2.The proportion of breastfeeding in this study was 45.8%.The main reason for not breast-feeding was insufficient breast milk secretion.3.Only 15.1% of hospitalized mothers in the quantitative study had heard of the breast milk bank,the main knowledge came from the media and medical professionals.4.In the qualitative study,nine mothers were willing to donate breast milk,and only two mothers were willing to receive donated breast milk.In the quantitative study,38.2% of mothers said they were absolutely unwilling to donate their mother's milk and 64.6% said they were absolutely unwilling to receive donated breast milk.The hospitalized children's mothers donated breast milk attitude score was(18.37 ± 13.91).Conclusion: 1.Hospitalized children's mothers know better about breastfeeding but lack the better understanding of the benefits of breastfeeding.The mothers lack the confidence to adhere to breastfeeding and the exclusive breastfeeding rate is at a low level.2.A small number of hospitalized mothers had heard of breast milk,hospitalized children's mothers know little about donated breast milk knowledge.3.Hospitalized children's mothers' attitude of human milk bank is not positive.
