Comparison Of Cultivation Characters Of Main Cucumber Varieties In Shaanxi

With the continuous improvement of living standards,people’s demand for fresh and high-quality vegetables continues to increase.While driving the development of cucumber plantation,higher requirements have been placed on cucumber planting technology.The breeding of cucumber varieties is of great significance to increase the yield per unit area of cucumber,disease resistance of cucumber varieties,and promote the development of cucumber industry.In this study,five common excellent cucumber varieties of Jinchun 4,Jinyan 7,Jinyou 32,Zhongnong 8 and Bomei 8 were selected for testing.Comparative studies on its morphological indicators,biological indicators,precocity,high productivity and disease resistance were conducted,The research results are as follows:(1)Among the five tested materials,Bomei plant height performed best,the seedling stage is 40.62cm,the flowering stage is 71.64cm,the fruit setting stage is 135.33cm,the full fruit stage is 162.47cm,and the full fruit late 185.44cm,followed by Jinchun 4,35.71cm、68.67cm、118.58cm、154.82cm、181.21cm,there is no significant difference in plant height among Jinyan 7,Zhongnong and Jinyou 32;The general trend of the exhibition is:Bomei 8>Jinchun 4>Zhongnong 8>Jinyan7>Jinyou 32;Jinchun 4 and Bomei 8 have more leaves,the number of leaves of Bomei 8 is:seedling stage 11.19,flowering stage 14.07,fruit setting stage 17.34,full fruit stage 19,and full fruit late 20.3,and Jinchun 4 has 13.46、17.27、17.45、19、20.3;Bomei 8 showed an absolute advantage in leaf area,which was23.06%~62.39%higher than the other 4 test materials,while there was no significant difference among the other 4 test materials;In the early stage of plant growth,the main stem of Jinchun 4 was the largest at 8.43cm,which was 6.4%~29.74%higher than that of the other four cucumber varieties.However,as time went by,the main stem of Bomei 8 was thicker.The diameter of the main stem of Jinchun 4 is gradually larger than that of Jinchun 4,which is about 1.2%~2.2%higher than that of Jinchun 4.In general,Bomei 8 had the best growth in plant growth among the 5 test materials.(2)In terms of blooming time,the first female flower node of Jinchun 4 was the smallest at 4.1,while the first female flower node of Bomei 8 was significantly higher than the first female flower node of other test materials,which was 5.2.The first female flower of other test materials There was no significant difference in node position,indicating that Jinchun 4 had the best precociousness and Bomei 8 had the worst precocity.(3)A comparative study of the chlorophyll content of different varieties showed that there were differences in the chlorophyll a content of the test materials.The chlorophyll a content of Jinchun 4 was the highest at the early stage of cucumber planting,which was14.85 mg/g,and the chlorophyll a content of Jinyou 32 was the lowest,which was 11.64mg/g.At the end of planting,Zhongnong 8 had the highest chlorophyll a content at 14.28mg/g,and Jinyou 32 had the lowest chlorophyll a content at 10.92 mg/g;The chlorophyll b content of each test material reached the maximum in the second determination.The chlorophyll b content of Jinchun 4 was 5.06 mg/g,the chlorophyll b content of Jinyan 7 was5.22 mg/g,and the chlorophyll b content of Zhongnong 8 The content is 5.53 mg/g,the chlorophyll b content of Jinyou 32 is 6.42 mg/g,and the chlorophyll b content of Bomei 8 is5.87 mg/g;The MDA content of Zhongjinyou 32 and Bomei 8 was the smallest,respectively:seedling stage 0.263μmol/g,flowering stage 0.281μmol/g,fruit setting stage 0.284μmol/g,full fruit stage 0.292μmol/g,full fruit late 0.301μmol/g,seedling stage 0.282μmol/g,flowering stage 0.293μmol/g,fruit setting stage 0.272μmol/g,full fruit stage 0.298μmol/g,full fruit late 0.302μmol/g,followed by Zhongnong 8<Jinchun 4<Jinyan 7.(4)The weight of each melon of the five test materials is as follows:Bomei No.8>Jinchun 4>Jinyou 32>Jinyan 7>Zhongnong 8,respectively:0.231 kg,0.225 kg,0.219 kg,0.212 kg,0.205 kg,Bomei 8 has a significant increase of 0.006 kg~0.026 kg compared with other varieties.The total output of different test materials is arranged from high to low as Bomei 8,Jinchun 4,Zhongnong 8,Jinyan 7,and Jinyou 32.The output of 666.7 m2 is5930.56 kg,4,52.28 kg,4276.42 kg,3898.56 kg,respectively 3699.01 kg,it can be seen that the weight and total yield of Bomei 8 are higher than other varieties.(5)Physiological indicators of different varieties are also different.Among the five test materials,the polyphenol oxidase(PPO),ascorbate peroxidase(APX),phenylalanine ammonia lyase(PAL)and peroxidase(POD)of Jinyou 32 have the highest activity,and its content is 9.4 U/(min·g FW),0.78 U/(min·g FW),509 U/(min·g FW),2.58 U/(min·g)when its activity is the strongest.Next is Bomei 8,which has the highest activity when the content is 9.1 U/(min·g FW),0.78 U/(min·g FW),498 U/(min·g FW),2.36 U/(min·g FW),the remaining varieties are:Zhongnong>Jinchun>Jinyan.The variety with the highest nitrate reductase(NR)activity is Jinyan 7,which is 4.12 Na NO2μg/(g·h FW)~8.06 Na NO2μg/(g·h FW),Followed by Jinchun 4>Zhongnong 8>Bomei 8,they are:4.01 Na NO2μg/(g·h FW)~7.12 Na NO2μg/(g·h FW)、3.45 Na NO2μg/(g·h FW)~6.71 Na NO2μg/(g·h FW)、3.15Na NO2μg/(g·h FW)~6.46 Na NO2μg/(g·h FW),Jinyou 32 had the lowest activity,ranging from 3.36 Na NO2μg/(g·h FW)to 6.15 Na NO2μg/(g·h FW).In summary,among the five tested materials,the cucumber variety with the best downy mildew resistance was Jinyou 32,followed by Bomei 8,and the cucumber variety with the worst resistance was Jinyan 7.According to the growth of 5 varieties,Bomei No.8 plant has the best growth,showing advantages in biological characteristics,single melon yield,total yield and disease resistance.The single melon weight and total yield of Bomei 8 were 0.231 kg and 5930.56 kg,respectively,followed by Jinchun 4.The single melon weight and total yield were 0.225 kg and 4512.28 kg,respectively.But from the perspective of early maturity,the first female flower node position of Jinchun 4 is the smallest,which is 4.1,and its early maturity is the best.It is second only to Bomei 8 in terms of plant growth,biological characteristics,single melon weight and total yield,but its disease resistance It is poor,so Bomei 8 is suitable for breeding and promotion of high-yield and high-disease-resistant varieties,and Jinchun 4 can be used as an early-maturing and high-yielding variety.
