Research On Upgrading The Competitiveness Of Oil-tea Camellia Industry In Leiyang City

Hunan is the main producing area of Oil-tea Camellia in China,according to the statistics,by the end of 2016,the area of Oil-tea Camellia forest in Hunan Province is up to 1941.45 million mu,annual production of Camellia Oil 23.4 million tons,annual output value reached 259 billion,all three indicators rank first in the country,Oil-tea Camellia industry is growing into a rich industry in rural areas of Hunan Province.Developing Oil-tea Camellia industry is significant for increasing the supply of high-quality edible oil,maintaining national grain and oil safety,alleviating the pressure of cultivated land,helping forestry farmers getting rich from poverty,improving ecological environment,building a beautiful China and promoting rural revitalization.With the people’s increasing consumption demand for edible oil and the improvement of living standards,consumption demand of edible oil,especially health vegetable edible oil increased rigidly,demand exceeds supply,so Oil-tea Camellia industry has great development potential and broad market prospects.Leiyang is a major county of Oil-tea Camellia production in China,more than 1800 years of Oil-tea Camellia cultivation history,one of the counties with the largest planting area of Oil-tea Camellia,Leiyang Camellia Oil has a certain degree of fame throughout the country.In 2018,Leiyang Municipal Committee and Municipal Government proposed the “3131”project plan,among them,Oil-tea Camellia industry is one of the three key industries supported and built.There are many problems in the development of tea-oil industry in Leiyang at present,such as weak policy support,low comprehensive utilization rate,not strong science and technology drive,extensive management,unfavourable economic environment and so on,study how to improve the competitiveness of oil-tea camellia industry in Leiyang is very important in modifying industrial structure,accelerating economic transition,promoting the revitalization of rural industry,increasing farmers’ income and winning the battle against poverty.Based on extensive reading and comprehension of relevant literature,the author visited 14 townships and subdistrict offices,more than 20 Oil-tea Camellia production and processing enterprises,professional cooperatives and grower,analyzing the present situation of the development of Oil-tea Camellia industry from production,processing and sales,etc,applying the SWOT analytical method researched advantage,inferiority,opportunity and challenge of the development of Oil-tea Camellia industry in Leiyang,concluded than the development of Oil-tea Camellia industry in Leiyang has the advantage of natural condition,geographical location,science and technology,labor resources and policy support,the inferiority of insufficient investment,difficulties in forest land transfer,low yield of aged trees and lagging processing and sales,the opportunity of great potential in domestic market,increasing demand for high-quality oils and according with policy,the challenge of impact of other major Oil-tea Camellia producing counties and increased production costs,pointed out the problems and reasons of the development of Oil-tea Camellia Industry in Leiyang City,establishing hierarchical structure model for evaluating the competitiveness of Oil-tea Camellia industry,selected four elements of industry,region,brand and support and 13 indicators for competitiveness analysis,concluded that the competitiveness level of Oil-tea Camellia industry in Leiyang City belongs to the middle and lower grades.At last,based on the above research results,the author proposed the countermeasures and suggestions to promote the development of Oil-tea Camellia industry in Leiyang City.
