| With the deterioration of the environment and the shortage of resources,the global environmental problem of land desertification needs to be resolved urgently.Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China,the problem of land desertification has gotten the high concern of Chinese government.Meanwhile,China implemented Desertification Prevention Projects in many places such as the Project of Prevention and Control of Desertification,and has achieved remarkable achievements.In particular,Yulin’s achievements in desertification control are leading in China and even in the world.Firstly,based on previous studies and relevant data,the study regarded Yulin city as a composite ecosystem.To measure regional niche and systematically evaluate the comprehensive impact of the desertification prevention projects on Yulin area,the evaluation index system was constructed from three perspectives of society,economy,and nature.Secondly,the Projection Pursuit Method based on Simulated Annealing Optimization,Principal Component Analysis Method,and Gray Correlation Analysis Method were introduced into the comprehensive assessment of composite ecosystem niche in Yulin city.Through the comparative analysis of the three assessment methods,it was concluded that the Projection Pursuit Method based on Simulated Annealing Optimization was suitable for the comprehensive evaluation of regional composite ecosystem.According to the study,the three indicators that have the greatest impact on the compound niche of Yulin city from 1996 to 2017 are forest stock per capita,urban disposable income per capita,and Real GDP per capita.Some suggestions are put forward in this study that we should take actions with relevant information reflected by these indicators to control desertification.Thirdly,the implementation of the desertification control project in Yulin can be divided into four stages: unimplemented stage,experimental stage,construction stage,and consolidation stage.The research and analysis showed that the composite niche of Yulin city was significantly improved during the construction and consolidation phase of the desertification control project.In addition,combined with the coupling and coordination theory,the study found that the complex ecosystem of Yulin city has changed from a serious imbalance in the unimplemented phase of the project to a barely imbalanced phase in the later consolidation phase of the project.With the help of variance analysis,the study further verified that the implementation of the desertification control project had a significant impact on the complex ecosystem of Yulin city.Finally,based on the ecosystem service value evaluation theory and Ecological Coefficient Method,the ecosystem service value of Yulin city was evaluated.After the desertification control project was implemented,the ecosystem service value of different land types such as forest and grassland in Yulin city was calculated.Combining the above analysis results,the study proposed the following suggestions: first,the relevant government agencies in Yulin should continue to carry out key forestry projects to consolidate the current achievements;second,accelerate the preparation of the Natural Resource Balance Sheet,and complete the accounting of natural resources from easy to difficult;third,the current industrial structure should be adjusted in time to reduce the dependence of Yulin ’s economic development on Extractive Industries,at the same time,the government should focus on the development of Green Agriculture,and increase support for the Ecological Industry. |
