The thesis has summarized and processed the statistics from the papers published on CNKI by the first author and corresponding author of the Grass Science discipline of Inner Mongolia Agricultural University from January 1,2010 to December 31,2019.With reference to the Global University Scientific Research Competitiveness Index System proposed by China Scientific Evaluation and Research Center of Wuhan University,the subject competitiveness index evaluation system of this research was constructed with five first-level indicators,namely,disciplinary productivity,disciplinary development,disciplinary influence,disciplinary innovation,and disciplinary cooperation.Also,eleven second-level indicators were detailed.This index system was used to compare horizontally and vertically the Grass Science disciplines of Inner Mongolia Agricultural University and the four universities appraised as above B+in the fourth round of national discipline evaluation.Problems regarding disciplinary competitiveness were identified in the Grass Science discipline of Inner Mongolia Agricultural University.As a result,the quality of the papers needs to be improved in the subject field,the reserve of talents is insufficient and needs to integrate with social development,the role of key directions is not in place,and the ability for cooperation with enterprises and international communication is relatively weak,etc.Therefore,it is recommended to strengthen the communication between teachers and students to improve the quality of graduate education;fully motivate subject leaders,exploit methods such as"outreach" and "internal training" for talent development to optimize the construction of the discipline team;completely integrate the needs of social development,accelerate the transformation of results and build up disciplinary characteristics and advantages;jointly build the disciplinary culture,enhance the disciplinary internal cohesion,actively provide advice to the government,strengthen external publicity,etc.,in order to improve the competitiveness of the Grass Science discipline of Inner Mongolia Agricultural University,which would enhance its research level and render it one of the first-class disciplines in the country in the future to come.
