China’s garlic cultivation area ranks first in the world,and the output of garlic increases year by year.It is an important vegetable economic crop in China,but the research of garlic root cutting equipment is relatively lagging behind,affecting the production efficiency and product quality of garlic.There are some garlic production machines at home and abroad,which mainly involve garlic harvesting,cutting,root cutting,breaking and peeling,etc.The cutting process is mainly integrated on the harvesting machinery.Breaking and peeling machinery is also relatively mature,but there are relatively few root-cutting machines.The existing automatic root cutting equipment will produce a large waste of garlic and affect the quality of garlic.The semi-automatic small root cutting equipment adopts the flat cutting method,which is wasteful and unsafe.The hand-held root cutting machine can ensure better concave cutting effect,but depending on human hands to fix,the effect is not stable,the efficiency is low and the waste of garlic meat is inevitable.Based on this,this paper takes garlic after whisker cutting as the object to achieve the precise cutting of garlic and reduce the waste of garlic.The research focuses on the physical and mechanical properties of garlic,and establishes the rooting simulation model of garlic.Based on the verified simulation model,the effects of root-cutting blades with different blade edge and rake angles on root-cutting resistance were explored.According to the characteristics of garlic root plate,the root cutting mechanism which can realize precise cutting root was designed,and a fully automatic garlic cutting production line has been built and tested.The main contents of this paper are as follows:1)According to the research demand of garlic automatic cutting production line,measure and count the physical characteristics of garlic.Then summarize the average size characteristics of four kinds of garlic,and provide data reference for the subsequent root cutting mechanism size and garlic conveying size.The mechanical properties of garlic were studied,and the mechanical parameters of garlic meat and garlic skin were measured to provide data support for the construction of garlic root cutting simulation materials.2)Based on the size characteristics of garlic,design special fixture to measure the cutting force of garlic.Based on the mechanical characteristics of garlic,the garlic material model was selected,and a finite element simulation model was established and verified by experiments.Based on the verified simulation model,the cutting tool is simulated and optimized to determine the best tool parameters.3)According to the physical characteristics of garlic and the requirements of root-cutting force,a contouring root-cutting plan for garlic was proposed,and the structural design was performed,and then the kinematics and dynamics analysis of the root-cutting mechanism was completed.Design garlic conveying and pressing mechanism,complete the structure design of the whole machine.According to the requirements of root-cutting and the efficiency of root-cutting,the whole machine sequence is designed,and the control system design and experimental research of the whole machine are completed based on PLC4)The parts development and device selection of each part of the garlic automatic cutting production line were completed,the assembly and debugging of the garlic automatic cutting production line were completed,and the cutting experiment was carried out.The results show that the cutting efficiency and cutting quality meet the design requirements.Furthermore,the improvement scheme design of the whole machine is proposed,and the timing coordination is optimized to improve the root cutting efficiency and the use stability of the whole machine.
