In this study,Penaeus vannamei was taken as the research object to study the influence of the substrate types in the breeding pond on the habitat and growth of Penaeus vannamei Meanwhile, the sustainable swimming ability of three sizes of Penaeus vannamei was compared. The results can improve the quality of shrimp breeding and provide reference for the regulation of water flow rate in the breeding pond. The main findings are as follows1.In order to investigate the effect of substrate on the habitat preference and growth performance of Penaeus vannamei, the following two groups of experimental studies were carried out.In experiment I,six kinds of substrates were set up in a culture pond, including gravel, coarse sand, fine sand, caissons, net cloth and blank glass tank as a control Experiment II was carried out in six culture ponds, each of which was laid with a kind of substrate, mainly to study the effect of substrate on the growth of Penaeus vannamei. The results showed that the preference of Penaeus vannamei for different substrates was different, and the preference decreased in the following order:caissons>fine sand>Coarse Sand>gravel>net clothes>glass tank bottom. The growth of Penaeus vannamei was significantly affected by the type of substrate in the culture pool, and the survival rate decreased according to the following sucking:Gravel>fine sand=Coarse Sand>net cover>glass tank bottom>Cairn, and the weight gain rate decreased according to the following sucking:Fine Sand>coarse sand>gravel>net cover>Cairn>glass tank bottom, and the specific growth rate decreased according to the following order.According to the results of this study, considering the influence of the substrate on the habitat preference and growth of Penaeus vannamei,it is suggested to select fine sand(1-3 mm)as the substrate of culture pond to improve the quality of shrimp aquaculture2.The study on the sustainable swimming ability of Penaeus orientalis is of great significance to the regulation of flow velocity and duration in the industrial circulating aquaculture system. In this study, the durable swimming time of Litopenaeus vannamei in three sizes of S1(5.87 ± 0.53)g,S2(10.12 ± 0.62)g,and S3(14.28 ± 0.12)g was measured in a circulating flume at six flow rates(29.4cm/s,32.9cm/s,37.5cm/s,41.2cm/s,44.3cm/s and 50.3cm/s),and the sustainable swimming ability of Litopenaeus vannamei was measured as an index. The results showed that:with the increase of flow rate, the sustainable swimming time of all kinds of Penaeus orientalis decreased, and the decrease increased with the increase of flow rate.At the same flow rate, the larger Penaeus orientalis is,the smaller the sustainable swimming time is,and there is obvious individual difference. The discrete coefficient is used to represent the individual difference. The discrete coefficient of three different Penaeus orientalis sizes increases with the increase of the flow, and the individual difference of S3 is significantly greater than that of other Penaeus orientalis sizes;Specification Penaeus orientalis has no effect on the selection of the mathematical fitting model of the average sustainable swimming time velocity, and the fitting coefficients of the logarithm models of three specifications Penaeus orientalis are the highest. The results can provide reference for the regulation of flow velocity in Penaeus orientalis aquaculture ponds with different specifications under the mode of industrial recirculating aquaculture.
