| Since the mid 20 thcentury,the marine ecological environment has suffered from great damage due to overfishing and marine pollution and result in a rapid decline in the world fishery resources.Many countries and regions have committed themselves to improving the fishery environment in their coastal waters and effectively led to a rapid development in the construction of artificial reefs.This study was conducted to investigate and evaluate the construction effect of artificial reefs project in Zhaoan Bay Fujian Province,by means of spot-surveying,sampling and analysis,access to basic data and social questionnaire survey.The main study results as follow:(1)One year after the reefs set in the sea,the average resource weight density,quantity density index of fishery harvesting by trawl or gill nets in the reefs area increased by 28.4%,11.2% and 83.5%,40.6%,respectively.The average resource weight density and quantity density index of the pitchers in reef area were 1.11 times and 1.92 times higher than those in the control area;(2)Five years after the reefs set in the sea,the average resource weight density and quantity density index of fishery harvesting by fishing in the reef area were 6.35 times and 4.46 times higher than those in the control area,respectively;(3)After the reef were set in the sea,the catch yield of reef-like species such as Siganus oramin,Paerargyrops edita,Gerres filamentosus,and high-quality economic species Johnius belangerii,Charybdis feriatus,Sebastiscus marmoratus,Octopus ocellatus in the reef area were significantly higher than those in control area;(4)After the reef set in the sea,the catch income of drift-net boat in 2016 increased 14.83% compared with 2015;(5)The performance of GJH001 type reef body was superior to GJH002 and GJH001 type.This study showed that the habitats and fishery resources of reef area in ChengZhou island are good,and have the basic condition and the proliferative potential of repairing and constructing the suitable living environment for the reef-dwelling swimming organism and the benthic habitat;The comprehensive benefit of the artificial reef project has been preliminarily revealed.In the future,we suggested that the local fishery administration departments should continue to put more effort on the conservation and management of fishery resources and supporting the construction of artificial reefs.Timely organize relevant research institutes carry out site selection for reefs building,reefs body structure design optimization,reefs movement,sedimentation,sedimentation number model analysis and observation verification,reef area habitat restoration and construction technology,investigation and evaluation technology,and other basic research work,to enhance the scientific and technological support capacity of artificial reefs construction in our province. |
