Gray mold in tomato caused by Botrytis cinerea has brought a huge economic loss to the fruit and vegetable market.The effects of melatonin(MT)and selenium(Se)on postharvest quality of fruits and the potential role of MT and Se in regulating antioxidant enzyme activity and pathogenicity related protein levels in plant and pathogen interactions were investigated by solution immersion treatment and stabbed inoculation method,combined with fluorescence quantitative PCR detection technology and hydride atomic fluorescence spectrometry detection technology.And the main results of the study are summarized as follows:1)The effect of MT and Se alone on the prevention and treatment of post-harvest grey mould disease in tomatoes was not obvious,but MT and Se combined to induce fruit could significantly inhibit the spread of grey mould disease,and the control effect reached74.05 %;2)MT and Se pretreatment increased the activity of SOD,POD enzyme and APX in fruit defense system,enhanced the activity of antioxidant enzyme system,and induced the resistance of tomato fruit;3)Se can improve the expression level of PR-1,PR-2 and prnp-24 genes in fruits;MT significantly improves the Se of fruits of induced the expression of PR-1 effect,raised PR-1 gene expression may be melatonin increase Se induced disease resistance is the most important reason for MT fruit to improve the control effect of Se on tomato postharvest grey mould was grasped;4)The exogenous MT promote tomato postharvest mature,and can alleviate the effects of the adr high Se on tomato postharvest.Since MT is good for animals and humans are safe,MT may be as a kind of environmentally friendly additives,rich in Se in fruit and vegetable production,improve fruit quality,prolong the shelf life.These findings provide a basis for the development of environmentally friendly germicides,broaden our understanding of the application of MT and Se in fruit and vegetable preservation,and contribute to the production and development of melatonin-rich foods,selenium-rich fruits and other functional foods.
