Wheat is the most important food crop in the world,and drought,salt and heavy metal stress are the factors that seriously affect its growth and yield.Aquaporin?AQP?selectively controls the flow of water and other small molecules across cell membranes and is critical for some physiological processes in plants,including abiotic stress responses.Metal-resistant protein?MTP?maintains metal homeostasis in plants by absorbing and exhaling the metal in the cytosol.In this study,127 non-redundant wheat aquaporin genes?TaAQP?and their four splicer variants,and 47 TaMTP genes in the wheat genome were identified and analyzed using a variety of bioinformatics methods.TaAQP is mainly divided into four subfamilies: PIP,TIP,NIP and SIP.All TaAQPs belong to the main intrinsic protein?MIP?.The RNA-seq data of TaAQP gene revealed the specific expression pattern of wheat AQP gene.Specifically,Ta TIP and Ta PIP are more highly expressed than Ta NIP and Ta SIP.q RT-PCR analysis showed that when wheat was subjected to drought and salt stress,the expression level of Ta NIP4;033D,Ta TIP2;02b7B,Ta SIP2;024A,Ta NIP3;036D ? Ta NIP2;04a7D were significantly induced.All TaMTPs have CDF domain and most of them have zinc transporter dimer domain.Based on phylogenetic and comparative analysis,TaMTP is divided into seven categories: G1,G5,G6,G7,G8,G9,and G12.Genetic structure and motif analysis showed that most TaMTP had relatively conserved exon-intron arrangement and conserved motif composition.Transcriptional data analysis showed that many TaMTP genes responded to different biological and abiotic stresses.q RT-PCRanalysis showed that when wheat was subjected to heavy metal stress,the expression levels of several MTPs,including TaMTP1-1A,TaMTP8-4A,TaMTP8-4D,TaMTP11-3Aa and TaMTP11-3B were significantly induced.In this study,aquaporin and metal-tolerant proteins in common wheat were identified and analyzed.These genes provided original information and theoretical basis for further study of their biological functions in wheat.
