The Uniformity Of Eggshell Thickness And Eggshell Shape Indicators Of Three Poultry

In order to explore the characteristics of eggshell thickness uniformity and eggshell shape index,and enrich people’s understanding of eggshell quality indicators,the experiment selected 280-day-old Hailan brown laying hens,180,500 and 740-day-old Shaoxing ducks,300-day-old Taihu goose and 300-dayold Zhedong white goose used as research material to study the eggshell thickness uniformity and eggshell shape indicators of three poultry and three day-old Shaoxing ducks.The relevant traits were measured and the data were analyzed.1.Study on the thickness uniformity of three poultry eggshellsIn order to explore the characteristics of the thickness of the three poultry eggshells,the 280-day-old Hailan brown hens,180-day-old Shaoxing ducks and 300-day-old Taihu goose eggs were selected as materials for the study.The results showed that:(1)The overall thickness of the eggshell is significantly lower than the five parts of the eggshell(big head top,big head,equator,small head,small head top).There is no uniform change in the thickness uniformity between different parts of the three poultry eggshells,and there are diversity;(2)The thickness uniformity of the whole eggshell is neat with some local thicknesses.Sexuality is related,but the specific parts are inconsistent and diverse;similarly,the correlation of thickness uniformity between the five parts is also inconsistent,with individualized samples;(3)The eggshell thickness uniformity of the three poultry is mainly significantly correlated with eggshell shape(long diameter,broad diameter,or egg shape index)(P<0.05),but the thickness of the eggshell(except for the thickness uniformity of the big head top of the Taihu goose eggshell and the overall thickness)and breaking strength had no significant correlation(P>0.05).2.Study on the thickness uniformity of duck eggs in three kind of agesIn order to further study the characteristics of the thickness uniformity of duck eggs in three kind of ages,Shaoxing duck eggs of 180,500 and 740 were selected as the research materials,and the eggs were measured and analyzed.It shows that:(1)Regardless of the early egg production or the end of the egg production period,the overall thickness uniformity of Shaoxing duck eggshells is significantly smaller than the thickness uniformity of the five parts of the eggshell(big head top,big head,equator,small head,small head top)(P<0.05);(2)Although the eggshell thickness uniformity between different poultry has diversity or individualized results,the same species of poultry shows stronger convergence;(3)with the increase of age,the correlation between thickness uniformity and eggshell shape(long diameter,broad diameter,egg shape index)is increasingly insignificant,but it is more and more significantly related to eggshell thickness or fracture strength.3.Study on the shape indicators of three poultry eggshellsIn order to explore the characteristics of the shape indicators of three poultry eggshells,eggs of the 280-day-old Hailan brown laying hens,180-day-old Shaoxing ducks and 300-day-old Taihu goose were selected as research materials to measure these three kind of eggs.The results show that:(1)In the egg shape index,geometric mean diameter,surface area,volume,are expressed as goose > duck > chicken,and the sphericity is expressed as goose < duck < chicken,which shows that the goose eggs look bigger and more elliptical than eggs and duck eggs;(2)whether egg,duck or goose eggs,egg shape index and sphericity,geometric mean diameter and surface area,volume,and surface area and volume are significantly correlated;It is worth noting,the sphericity of these three kind of eggs is negatively correlated with the other four egg shape indicators,which means that the larger the sphericity of the eggs,the smaller the egg shape index,geometric mean diameter,surface area and volume;(3)The geometric mean diameter,surface area and volume of the eggs are positively correlated with egg weight,long diameter,broad diameter and shell membrane weight.This indicates that the geometric mean diameter,surface area and volume of the eggs,duck eggs or goose eggs are larger.The larger the shape,the larger the egg weight,the long diameter,the wide diameter,and the shell membrane weight.4.Study on the shape indicators of duck eggs in three kind of agesIn order to explore the characteristics of the eggshell shape indicators of duck eggs in three kind of ages,Shaoxing duck eggs of 180,500 and 740 were selected as the research materials,and the duck eggs of these three kind of ages were measured and analyzed.The results showed that:(1)On the egg shape index,the result is 740 days > 180 days > 500 days,in terms of geometric mean diameter,surface area,volume,the result is 740 days > 500 days > 180 days,while the sphericity is 500 days >180 days>740 days,which indicates that with the increase of Shaoxing ducks’ age,the egg shape of 740-day-old duck eggs is larger than that of 180-and 500-day-old duck eggs.The egg shape index,geometric mean diameter,surface area and volume of the 740-day-old duck eggs are larger than that of 180-and 500-day-old duck eggs.and the sphericity is smaller;(2)In the duck eggshell,there is a significant positive correlation between geometric mean diameter,surface area and volume(P<0.001),and surface area is significantly positively correlated with volume(P<0.001).The shape index is negatively correlated with the sphericity.(3)In these three batches,except for the 500-day-old Shaoxing duck eggs,the geometric mean diameter,surface area and volume of the other two batches are related to egg weight,long diameter,broad diameter,and shell membrane.Significant positive correlation,and eggshell strength and geometric mean diameter Surface area,volume is not significantly related,which is consistent findings to the three indicators of poultry eggshell shape.5.Study of eggshell matrixIn order to further explore the characteristics of eggshell thickness uniformity and eggshell shape indicators,the eggshell matrix was studied by selecting 280-day-old Hailan brown laying hen,180-dayold Shaoxing duck and 300-day-old Zhedong white goose.(Acid-insoluble matrix,water-insoluble matrix,acid and water-soluble matrix)and the relationship between eggshell thickness uniformity and eggshell shape indicators.The results showed that except the eggshell matrix of duck eggs was not significantly correlated with the quality of these eggshells,the eggshell matrix content of eggs and goose eggs was significantly positively correlated with geometric mean diameter,surface area and volume,indicating the egg and goose eggs.The larger the geometric mean diameter,surface area and volume,the more the eggshell matrix contains.
