Study On Pig Breeding Production Efficiency In Hebei Province

Pork which has always been a dominant meat product in China,is an important meat food in people's daily life.As the gradual improvement of people's living standards lead to the increasing consumption of pork,great opportunities has brought to the development of pig breeding industry.Hebei Province is a major province for pig breeding,which enjoys high pork production but has relatively low level of pig breeding.Because the production efficiency plays a decisive role in the process of pig breeding,the research on the production efficiency of pig breeding has practical significance for improving the efficiency and modernization level of pig breeding.Through the input-output analysis of various factors in pig breeding industry,this paper concludes that different input costs have different contributions to pig breeding output.The logical structure of the study is as follows: Firstly,collecting relevant literature and data for sorting out,studying the research progress of production efficiency of pig breeding,determining the research object,and defining the relevant concepts of production efficiency of pig breeding.In order to grasp the development status,production and consumption level of pig breeding industry in Hebei Province,the stock and output,output and price,breed and regional distribution,scale and consumption of pig products are sorted out.Secondly,on the basis of the analysis of the current situation,the input factors are mainly divided into livestock cost,feed cost,labor cost and other costs.The input and output of pig breeding are analyzed from three angles of production level,namely cost composition and cost-benefit,and the change of unit cost productivity and total cost productivity of single factor.Next,the Cobb-Douglas production function and Solow model are used to calculate the contribution rates of total factor productivity and capital input,labor input and technology application to pig breeding output.It is concluded that the growth rates of capital input and labor input are declining,the persistence of labor contribution rate and capital contribution rate is poor,and the contribution rate of total factor productivity is relatively stable in general,but the utilization rate of technology is not very high,and the sudden decline in individual years is large.Finally,the countermeasures and suggestions are put forward as follows.Strengthening technical training to improve the quality of breeders,enhancing product traceability to improve product quality,strengthening industrial agglomeration to promote large-scale production,improving feed production to reduce costs and input,and improving the quality of pig breeding and the supply of good breeds.The innovation of this paper is that through analyzing the cost input and output efficiency of pig breeding industry in Hebei Province,a conclusion can be drawn that the input of different cost factors has different effects on the output of pig breeding industry.By using Cobb Douglas production function and extended Solow model,the contribution rate of total factor productivity of Hebei pig breeding industry is calculated,which finds the factor that make higher contribution rates to pig breeding industry.Besides,the factors provided countermeasures to improve the production efficiency of pig breeding in Hebei Province.
