The creeping bentgrass is a perennial cold season turfgrass, which is widely used in all kinds of conventional greenbelt and high-strength economic lawns because of its excellent attribute, but the occurrence of disease in the creeping bentgrass has been frequent and the application has been developed to a great extent limit. So a variety of chemical fungicides are widely used, resulting in increased resistance to disease so that disease prevention and control more difficult, while the environment has also been seriously polluted, contrary to the original intention of ecological construction. In recent years, induce plant disease resistance is widely studied, and bring new development prospects for the prevention and control of lawn disease. In this study,2,3-butanediol was used as the resistance Inducer,The creeping bentgrass was induced treatment at seedling period, and inoculated with Rhizoctonia solani of lawn grass brown spot pathogen. To observe the effects of 2,3-BD on the resistance to brown spot of creeping bentgrass by studying its structure, cell wall components, and lignin synthesis of phenolic acids. The results show:(1)Compared with the untreated inoculation treatment, the cell structure of the creeping bentgrass leaves was more closely aligned after the 2,3-BD induction, upper and lower epidermal cells were significantly increased, the seventh day difference was the largest of its 1.19 and 1.26 times, and there are more mastoid formation;mesophyll cells increased, the 15 th day the most significant difference, was 1.30 times; The number of chloroplasts increased significantly, the vascular bundle and catheter size in the time period are not obvious changes, but a higher degree of lignification, cortical tissue thickening.(2)Compared with untreated inoculation treatment, after 2,3-BD induced treatment and inoculation of pathogens, the degree of cell damage was significantly reduced, the abundant of intercellular connection formed between cells, the chloroplast structure was spindle-shaped and close to the cell wall,in the chloroplast to form a large number of starch granules, the number of mitochondria also increased.(3)The contents of lignin, cellulose, hemicellulose and HRGP in the creeping bentgrass leaves were accumulated after the 2,3-BD induction treatment in each time period, significantly higher than the control and uninduced inoculation treatment, respectively,in the 13,11,9 and 9 days corresponding to the peak, compared to the uninduced inoculation treatment were increased by 5.7%,17.6%,16.5% and 42.5%.And lignin and HRGP accumulation of time and intensity of the process showed a certain degree of synchronization. The contents of pectin increased first and then decreased, but it was always significantly higher than that uninduced inoculation treatment, and peaked at the 11 th day, which was 0.9% higher than that of the untreated and inoculation.(4)The contents of P-coumaric acid, caffeic acid, ferulic acid and erucic acid were improved after the 2,3-BD induction treatment. The contents of p-coumaric acid and caffeic acid was always higher than that of the control and the difference was significant,at the same time,it was found that the peak value of four kinds of phenolic acids showed a certain order in time, and the peak time was in the order of P-coumaric acid, caffeic acid, ferulic acid and erucic acid on the 7th,9th,11 th and 13 th day, respectively, and the difference was significant compared with the untreated inoculation treatment, which was 1.38,1.39,1.11 and 1.16 times respectively.
