In order to study the degradation of glufosinate in rapeseed plants and soils,we have adopted high efficiency liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(HPLC-MS)to study on the dynamics of glufosinate-phosphine removal in the leaves and soil of transgenic and non-transgenic rapeseeds after weeding at the seedling stage, dynamics of glufosinate-phosphatidylcholine during maturation, and glufosinate residue in rapeseed pods and stems On the digestion of rapeseed and rapeseed and its effect on the growth and development of alfalfa crops after spraying glufosinate-ammonium.The results showed that half-lives of 1% glufosinate in the leaves of transgene and non-transgene oilseed rape were 5.3d and 3d,respectively;no glufosinate was found after 21 days of spray. In the field condition,half-lives of glufosinate in summer and autumn soil were 2.5d and 6.6d respectively, and no residue was detected after 14 d and 28 d of spray, respectively. However, the half-lives of glufosinate were 21 d and 14.4d respectively under 4? and 25?in the controlled-room condition, slower in the rate of degradation than in the field. On the other hand,1% and 10% glufosinate were sprayed in the field 15 d before rice sowing, seed germination rates were significantly lower in the sprayed treatments than in non-sprayed condition. After 10% glufosinate ripening, the glufosinate residues in pods and stalks were higher and the degradation rate was slower. The glufosinate content in rapeseed seeds was extremely low,and the glufosinate residues in seeds could not be detected after 30 days. The lowest SPAD values were detected within 30 d of sowing at 10% glufosinate treatment, visible yellow-green color. However,as time pass, seed germination and leaf SPAD value were close among each treatment,no significant differences were found in root length, agronomic characteristics and yield between treated and non-treated condition, and no residues of glufosinate have been detected in rice seeds indicating the usage of glufosinate in oilseed rape is safe to the next-season crop rice.
