| The issue of Houji and the relationship between Houji and agriculture in the early Zhou Dynasty is an important issue in the study of ancient Chinese history and agricultural history in China,and the issue of Houji is a prerequisite for the study of the relationship between Houji and agriculture in the early Zhou Dynasty.Only by identifying the identity of Houji,can we better study the relationship between Xianzhou and Jiangyan.Houji is generally regarded as the direct ancestor of the Zhou people.It is of great significance to explore the issue of Houji for advancing the study of the culture of the Zhou Dynasty.Starting from the relationship between Jijiang and Jijiang,it is possible for us to discuss the cultural attribute of Houji.From the relationship between Zhou Yuan’s early Zhou culture and Oriental Light Society culture,the description of different ancestors and social environments in Shengmin and Qi,the legend that many agricultural gods were named Jiang,and the description of later generations’ morphological features,we speculate that Houji probably belonged to Jiangyan culture at first,and was borrowed as ancestor by Zhou people under the background of Jijiang Alliance.Her maternal uncle and grandfather.Houji’s identity is generally considered to be an individual,a direct ancestor of the Zhou people or an agricultural God not related to the Zhou people.Through the analysis of the above-mentioned views in ancient literature,we believe that Houji’s identity is complex and is a collection of maternal ancestors of the Zhou people endowed with the attribute of agricultural god.Agricultural development in the early Zhou Dynasty went through three periods.The first two periods had nothing to do with the later Jijiang nationality.The last period merged with the Jiang nationality and developed rapidly.In the first period,the Zhou people depended on the summer area to carry out agricultural production.In the second period,the Zhou people lived in the area of Rongdi for a long time,forming a semi-agricultural and semi-pastoral agricultural production structure.In the third period,the Zhou people moved to Guanzhong area,merged with the local Jiang people,and realized the explosive development of agriculture by utilizing appropriate natural conditions. |
