The objectives of this study are to understand the resistance of 134 wheat cultivars to Puccinia striiformis and the distribution and application of Yr genes in the wheat growing regions,to give some suggestions for the farmers and governors when they choose cultivars,and to prolong the planting years of cultivars based on the harbored Yr genes.A total of 134 wheat cultivars(lines)from China were tested for seedling resistance to 15 races of Puccinia striiformis f.sp.tritici(Pst)in the greenhouse.And CYR32 and CYR33 were used for further resistance evaluation at the adult stage.Then the authors screened these wheat cultivars with the closely linked molecular markers of wheat stripe rust resistance genes Yr5,Yr10,Yr18,Yr26 and 1BL/1RS translocation lines.With all data integrated,such as pedigree of cultivars(lines),resistance to the 15 races,and molecular detection,the yellow rust resistance genes were postulated.Evaluation of Stripe Rust Resistance to wheat cultivars,and according to the seedling resistance,adult resistance and Yr genes.The ruslt shows,a total of 15 seedling yellow rust resistance genes or gene combinations(Yr3,Yr4,Yr5,Yr7,Yr8,Yr9,Yr10,Yr17,Yr26,Yr27,Yr30,Yr32,Yr A,Yr Sp,Yr Sk)were postulated in 56 wheat cultivars,Yr9 was the most frequent,8 cultivars such as ‘Jining16' no seedling resistance gene,3 cultivars such as ‘Chincse spring'have Yr18,42 cultivars resistance to CYR32 and CYR33 at adult stage,12 cultivars such as ‘Jinan17' resistance CYR32 and CYR33,3 cultivars have Yr5 gene such as ‘Langyan43' resistance all races.The all wheat cultivars(lines)have low resistance to the Chinese stripe rust and most resistance genes was losed resistant.In the future breeding,the utilization of effective resistance genes such as Yr5,Yr18 should be increased,and the genes was loesd resistant such as Yr9,Yr10,Yr26 should be reduced.Reasonable use of breeding technologies such as mutagenesis.Correct use of wheat varieties that according to the wheat Yr genes and improved the lose resistance wheats.
