Moistube-irrigation is an emerging water-saving irrigation technology that not only saves water, but also improves soil structure, crop yield and irrigation water productivity compared to traditional surface irrigation techniques.Alternate irrigation, that is,controlled root-and-root alternate irrigation,is to make part of the root system and another part of the crop alternately in the drier and moist soil,so that the roots of different areas are alternately subjected to a certain degree of drought exercise, which is conducive to crop growth. In this experiment, the combination of moistube-irrigation and alternate irrigation was carried out to study the effects of different alternation cycles and different pressure heads on the growth of pepper and the law of indoor soil moisture transport. The pepper planting experiment was carried out in a plastic greenhouse.Three treatments were set up in the experiment. The pressure heads of 1 m and1.5 m under the moistube-irrigation were used for 8 d,the interval between the moistube-running pipes was 15 cm,and the depth of the moistube-running pipes was 20 cm,set the general irrigation group as a control experiment,in order to explore the effects of moistube-alternative irrigation on soil moisture content, crop growth, crop yield, irrigation water productivity under different pressure heads. The results showed that the pressure head had a significant effect on the growth and yield of pepper.During the growth of pepper, the plant height, root length and stem diameter of the moistube-irrigation group increased exponentially, and the growth advantage was obvious compared with the common irrigation group. The pepper planting test was carried out in the open air.Two pressure heads of 1 m and 1.5 m were set under the 8 d alternating cycle, and ordinary irrigation was set as the control. The depth and spacing of the moistube-running pipes were 20 cm and 25 cm,respectively.Soil moisture content, plant height, yield and other data,in order to explore the impact of different pressure heads on open-air pepper cultivation. The results showed that the crop growth trend, yield and irrigation water productivity of the moistube-irrigation treatment group were better than those of ordinary irrigation, and the 1.5 m pressure head treatment had the best growth trend and the highest irrigation water productivity. The soil moisture transport simulation experiment was carried out indoors, and six pressure heads of 0.75,1,1.25,1.5,1.75,and 2 m were set.The moistube-run pipe length was 30 cm,the moistube-run pipe depth was 15 cm,and the alternating cycle was 8 d,in order to explore the effects of pressure head on soil moisture content, soil water infiltration, soil wetting characteristics, etc.under the same alternating cycle. The test results show that the pressure head has a significant effect on the cumulative soil infiltration, the wet front migrationdistance and the soil moisture content. The cumulative infiltration volume increases with the increase of the pressure head, and the wet front migration distance and pressure head are positive.Correlation, the larger the pressure head, the larger the cross section of the wet body, and the soil moisture content is significantly affected by the pressure head, showing a positive correlation.
