Wheat(Triticum aestivum)is one of the most important cereal crops worldwide.The Sichuan Basin is one of the ten wheat quality subregions in China.Compared with north China,the positioning of processing quality in this area remain unclear,which reduces the benefits of wheat production and has seriously affected wheat production in the area.In this study,seven wheat cultivars planted in large scale in Sichuan and Roblin,a strong gluten control cultivar,were planted at 21 growing sites representing different ecological types to investigate the status of processing quality of Sichuan wheat.The main experimental results are listed below:1.The protein content,wet gluten content,zeleny sedimentation volume,water absorption correction,development time,stabe time and farinograph quality number of Sichuan wheat were all low,the average values of grain protein content(%),wet gluten content(%),zeleny sedimentation volume(mL),water absorption correction(%),development time(min),stable time(min),and farinograph quality number of the 7 varieties were 11.74,23.66,20.62,55.64,1.66,3.57 and 35.60.The grain protein content,wet gluten content,and zeleny sedimentation value of the Sichuan wheat showed weak gluten level for 2 wheat growing seasons.The water absorption correction and stable time of Mianmai 37 and Mianmai 51 showed weak gluten level,and the other cultivars showed medium gluten level during 2014-2015;the water absorption correction and stable time of Sichuan wheat showed weak gluten level.2.During the two years,the regularity of the wheat processing quality at each test point was obvious,and there was no significant difference between years.The processing quality of wheat were significantly affected by cultivar and growing site,and the overall performance was close to weak gluten level.The processing quality of weak gluten,medium gluten and strong gluten cultivars planted in Wangcang County,Yucheng County,Rong County,Xindu County,Xicang City,Fucheng County,Shizhong District of Neijiang,Guanghan City,Wenjiang District,Shuangliu District,Renshou County,Manyang City,Chongzhou City and Pidu District showed weak gluten level and are suitable for the development of weak gluten wheat.The processing quality of weak gluten,medium gluten,and strong gluten cultivars planted in Shunqing District,She Hong and Hanyuan County showed medium gluten level and are suitable for the development of medium gluten wheat.The processing quality of weak gluten,medium gluten,and strong gluten cultivars planted in Jinyan County,Shizhong District of Leshan and Zizhong County showed strong gluten level and are suitable for the development of strong gluten wheat..3.The main wheat producing areas in Sichuan are suitable for the production of weak gluten wheat.
